After trying my first simple fit workout last Sunday (see above post) I didn't think I would do another one for a while. I was planning for today to be a rest day, but I got a bit restless hanging around the house and decided to give a day three workout a try. I knocked off level 5 in 4:03. Not too bad, although it was harder than I thought it would be. I think I probably could have finished level 6 in under 5:00, but level 7 seems like it would be a good bit slower. Anyway, good times. Thanks, Cheapo, for starting this thread.
I think I am going to have to give this a try.
I did level 3 yesterday for the first time. I am making pretty good progress. Thanks to simplefit I am able to do a few real pullups before having to switch to modified.
Level 3 Day 1
2 pull ups
3 push ups
I only did 4 pull ups but 120 modified. I am sore today.
Started last week . . my biggest problem is im so sore from Day 1 that im still super-sore by the time day 2 comes arround. . even for level one.
Anyone else have this issue?
I was sore at first. Just take an extra day rest after day 1
This is pretty much my workout except I add planks to failure and handstand pushups to failure. I am in fantastic shape, so it definitely works.
OK, so L1D2, i did it 3:50
It wasn't nearly as bad as level one. Even though i was still sore it went pretty good.
Think i'll level up on day 3?
If I may offer a couple thoughts.
First, working out when you're sore is just fine. After warming up, you won't even feel sore or stiff. I've never let it hold me back from a workout, and I can't ever see a reason to.
Second, in regards to pull-ups: If you're having trouble adding pull-ups, try doing one or two in-between sets of other lifts/exercises. It will allow an active rest, and should build up your strength for the movement. Heard that once somewhere. Thought it was a pretty damned good idea.
I have certainly been sore enough after Day 1 for it to have severe impact on my ability to do Day 2 two days later. If I skip a few weeks of workouts (it happens!), my first Day 2 (after my first Day 1) is soooo ungodly brutal, I have decided I will probably skip it, or move it to later in the week.
Thanks for posting! Have been thinking of P90X as well but the cost is prohibitive.
Printing out now. Thanks to you and DCKMB, I should be busy.
And wonderful changes!
