I'm T1.5 diabetic. I was drug free for 2 years with the help of Primal eating, but had to go back on insulin pump for pregnancy. It's been really neat having a continuous glucose sensor and seeing how certain foods affect me.

aw that sucks, but sounds like you have it under control. Should you be able to go off insulin again after pregnancy?
Has it been hard to stick to primal while pregnant? I have not had a primal pregnancy and unfortunately will not, but it would have been nice to do it once to compare though.
I didn't get tested for my second pregnancy, but just ate CW "healthy". My first pregnancy I had mcdonalds every day. Any wonder I was diagnosed as having GD
I should be drug free again by June at the latest. I made it through the first 4-5 months of pregnancy drug free. My A1c was 5.5, but it was creeping up with each visit, so we got back on the pump. My last two A1c's were 5.1 & 5.2. My diabetes doc asked if she could white out my name on my insulin pump chart graph print out and show it to her other patients "This is what it's supposed to look like, people!"
I've also had several OBs tell me that my blood sugar control is better than theirs, and can I please come knock some sense into their other diabetic patients?
The first 6 months were rough, diet-wise, cuz you're kind of in survival mode. I went from veggie addict to veggie aversion and all I wanted was rare meat and fat. It's only been in the last couple months that I've started craving veggies again, and my obsessive desire for rare meat has toned down to medium rare.
With my first pregnancy, I wasn't educated at all about proper nutrition, but I tried to eat right (what I felt was right at the time). However, I craved Taco Bell. Incidentally I now have a 4yo who drinks salsa, lol. It wasn't until I joined MyFitnessPal in 2009 that I started teaching myself about proper nutrition, and by the end of 2010, I wanted to start eating cleaner so I found primal.
I have more of my personal Primal journey posted on my food blog:
