One of the 'pros' of primal that I find is how is it easy to systematically let things go.
We have been caffeine free for 3 weeks here, and there doesn't seem to be any need to go back to it at all.
This whole holiday season has been really easy -- we've had a bit of chocolates, some traditionally made stollen and some christmas cookies, but there's no over-eating them. They taste great, but a little bit goes a long way. We have talked about finishing out our purchased chocolate to make our own paleo fudge (coconut oil, cocoa, and honey to taste), and otherwise just letting white sugar go. We'll still continue with starch (sweet potatoes/potatoes, occasional rice), veggies (lots and lots of veggies!), meats and eggs, and butter/coconut oil/other oils.
I think it will be great to be free of sugar. I'm went through a stint of it years ago, and I'm glad to be heading back that way.
