Very interesting read re HF vs HC diets, and the effect of adding strength training. Note the Male-Female differences.
I am so gun-ho about this right now. I've got soup stewing in the crockpot. Not much of a fat blast as it's made with boneless/skinless chicken, but it'll be chock full of other nutrients given all the veggies I put in it.... Maybe I'll eat it with bacon! lol
One of the interesting things I've noticed this week since adding more fat: I'm starting to recognize the difference between hunger and appetite. I've been noticing that times when I think I should eat aren't always times when I feel hungry. It's more out of habit or boredom. Very interesting. Also: I've been craving some carbs (specifically rice cakes) without actually wanting them, if that makes sense. It's like my brain wants them but my stomach doesn't. Weird!
Anyway, tonight is my final night of booze and ice cream. :) Starting tomorrow, it's 80/20 primal! The 20 will be for those times when I'm too lazy to make my own mayo. ;)

thank you! :)
the on-going discussion is great, I'll just be lurking around. I invented a "fat smoothie" today. Half a bag of spinach, heavy cream, a dallop of full fat honey yogurt. Drinking it as we speak and my stomach is thanking me.

Sounds like your brain is getting stronger than the cravings. :)

Maybe! Although you'd think I'd be craving chocolate. :)
Okay, official measurements and stuff:
Height: 4'11.5"
Weight: 113.4 lbs
Bust: 33.5"
Waist: 24"
Widest part of thighs together: 39.3"
Considering that A) we had Japanese food last night and B) my TOM is beginning now -- early, yow -- this isn't bad! Here is what I had been at my leanest, back in November 2011 after I had been primal/paleo and then Whole 30:
Weight: 102.6 lbs
Bust: 32"
Waist: 23"
Widest part of thighs together: 36.25"
I hadn't been able to maintain, especially when I hit the wall and went back to SAD. So I suppose my first goal is to get close to my previous lean measurements.
I've found that upping my fat a bit is helping with me not eating off the hilt while on prednisone. I made a double batch of oopsie rolls and had a breakfast sandwich made with 2 of them this morning and OMG it was awesome. I've made a new batch of bone broth. The old one went bad which would explain why I puked on the last one. This batch is really good. I used a package of chicken legs. I've just pulled the chicken off the bones and am about to add the bones back to it, more water to it and a splash of vinegar to it and let it go until about 8PM tonight when my husband and I go out. We're going to the Hollywood Casino in Columbus for some fun.
Happy New Year, everyone!
I was very conscientious on the 31st, cleaning out the pantry and fridge of all foods that would not support my goals for this new protocol (don't ask me why they were there in the first place *sigh*), stocking up on lots of lovely fatty foods (yay for avocados and sour cream!), and whipping up a batch of Paleobird's delish pâté with streaky bacon added for extra flavour. I'm ready to roll!
