Back from the walk! Sunrise was beautiful this morning. My knees hurt but my glutes are feeling great. NYC is beautiful. I'm new to the area so this was my first time seeing a lot of the districts. While walking I kept thinking how compressed the neighborhoods were — every 5 blocks is a new world. I felt hungry about 4 hours into the walk, and at one point had this odd flushing of saliva in my mouth, but now at the 12 hour mark of the fast the hunger's gone. I'm tired but don't feel like sleeping. I'm 5 lbs lighter which I suspect is mostly water. Time for a cold shower.
I just had a fleeting thought wondering how you were going to use this strategy for step 3 of your plan (find a nice chick).

So what's the strategy for meeting a woman? I'm sure you'll have an interesting plan of attack considering how you dealt with your other goals.
Umm binge then cold turkey?

Guess you should start saving your money for that binge (can't imagine how else you could do it.)

I think you misunderstood :)

How are you feeling so far?

At the 22 hour mark now and I am ravenous. Trying to focus on work but it's not helping that work is page layout for a recipe book. The food I want most right now is Nissan Spoonable Noodles, Rich & Savory Beef flavor. I could dump one of those powdered flavor packets in my mouth right now. But instead it's a cup of coffee.
I'm still getting those random flushes of saliva. It's different from the kind that comes with smelling food. It's much more saliva—enough to swallow in big gulps. It'll occur for about 2 minutes and then go away. I've had about 4 occurrences of this since I started the fast. Odd but not uncomfortable enough to stop the fast by any means.

Seriously!
I wish the OP the best of luck.
This is, possibly, the challenge of your life. And it's a positive thing:there's a life, a brain, a body, ambition and free-will.

Interesting. Are you having nausea with it?

A little but it goes away quickly. Haven't experienced it in the past few hours. I'm at 27 hours and not feeling hungry anymore just a little tired. Going to go to bed early tonight.

Another thing... my butt feels great. Like I just did squats, except I haven't squatted in years. I'm surprised just walking could make your muscle hypertrophy like that, especially in a fasted state.

It's interesting that you've been having lots of saliva. I've been waking up with a bit of dry mouth, but it might be due to my not hydrating adequately. When I first started doing IF though, I was totally ravenous at the sight of tasty food. I know exactly how that feels. It's a totally irrational kind of hunger, kind of like: "That looks tasty. I WANT IT IN MY MOUTH NOW."
Something I've recently begun doing is indulging in food porn. Maybe it's a little masochistic, but somehow, looking at pictures of really delicious food and not succumbing to the temptation of eating has made me feel kind of stronger in my resolve, haha.
