Help Me Name This Dish
Diced water chesnuts
I came up with this as a way to get as many nutritious foods as possible in one dish. The water chesnuts are probably primal-neutral, at best, but they add a crunch that I enjoy. It tastes great (even my 10-yr-old daughter agrees), and my latest version makes 14 cups. One cup contains 10 grams of healthy fat, 6.3 carbs, and almost 17 grams of protein.
But... I can't think of a good name. "Chicken-spinach soup" sounds lame. Also, it starts as a soup, but I simmer most of the water out.
So is the chicken diced or entire pieces or...?
If it's small pieces of chicken, you could jokingly call it "Chix Mix." ;)
Yellow green and red stew/soup.
That's a win. :)
There is a Persian dish called Khoreshte Esfenaj (basically, Spinach Stew ... with chicken).
Jenny - the chicken is practically shredded.
Goldie - what if I come up with another really good one? :-)
SaraSue - love it!
Paul - It never occurred to me to steal the words from another language. LOL
Foreign sounding names make the dish ... that's how the French roll ... their fly dishes are just what we Brits do, but they call them exotic sounding names.
Throw in a "soucon", a "quenelle", maybe a "jus" and most definitely a "marriage of" (in English) and you've got a fly sounding dish.
