Fishoil
I have a quick question about my fish oil. I use Lifeextension Super Omega-3 with EPA/DHA w/ Sesame Lignans and Olive Oil Fruit Extract. It contains EPA-700mg. DHA-500mg in 2 pills. I take 4 day. I always thought it was a good brand and has a IFOS 5 star rating. I just noticed on the bottle it says: Contains corn and sesame.
Corn? Really? Is this something I should be concerned about?

My understanding is that corn isn't all that bad except that it is relatively empty calories and spikes your insulin. Taken in small doses such as a fish oil pill I imagine it is not that bad. Personally I wouldn't worry.

Mine says it contains soy, tree nuts, and a few other things (don't have bottle with me).
I wonder if there's a difference between when labels say "contains", "may contain", and "may contain traces of"...

eat some fish. the chances of whatever is supposedly in those pills, not being rancid, by the time it's processed in a factory and shipped wherever it's going, is approximately zero. quit that shit, stat.

Fish pills = bad, rancid, inflammatory. x2 on eat some real fish.

Really baffling.... I just cant understand why fish oil supplements should contain corn, soy or any other product for that matter.... I use Nutrlite's Salmon Omega 3 and it doesn't contain anything other than fish oil... but I guess if it has a good rating, then there shouldn't be any problem...

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone take marks vital omegas? I was considering taking those instead.

You want a pharmaceutical grade fish oil. They contain around 900-1200mg (EPA/DHA combined) pure fish oil per capsule. No corn, soy or other unnecessary fish fat in them either. More expensive but worth what you pay. You can find them at Sprouts, Whole Foods or online at Amazon among other places.

Fish oil should not have corn in it. I recommend Green Pasture's Blue Ice fermented cod liver oil... definitely the best stuff on the market IMO, but pricey. Worth it though. I get the blend with the butter oil.
