The two times I ate a bowl of bone broth, shortly after I felt almost anxious, and "weird". Anyone ever experience anything like this? I slow cooked 4 bones for 24 hours in the slow cooker., FYI.
I'm wondering if it is the sodium??

You might be interested in reading up on the GAPS Diet by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. I believe it mentioned properly prepared bone broth can kill off bad microbes, causing a "die-off" effect. This could possibly explain the weird, anxious feeling you had. You can also find a GAPS Yahoo Group to ask questions to, if you do not feel like digging for this info.
I was on the GAPS Diet for about a year. I had similar symptoms as you (plus others) when first consuming bone broth. It went away as my gut healed.
Oh WOW! Thanks everyone! I think I will conitinue to eat it....a few more times..
Bone broth doesnt agree with me also if I drink it 'neat'. I kinda feel sick or nausea. Ive often wondered why.
Its fine if I use it in soups or stews...
Weird.
I never just drink it, I use it for stock, soups, poach eggs in it, etc.
