Have you read the primal blueprint? Mark lays out WHY you shouldn't eat legumes...but you STILL ask these questions.

Do you really just want a forum of people who don't question anything?
I'd much rather have a forum where people question EVERYTHING. It keeps on our toes and our minds open. Yes, it's annoying at times, but that's okay. It's better than only being around information that feeds my current bias, which could lead me to missing valuable information.
I love paleo, but I don't think it's perfect. Also, I won't let my love of the paleo concept to block out new information that could tweak or alter my diet and lifestyle.
Why are red kidneys beans the enemy in the primal diet?
Maybe because they are just plain boring. Try this experiment: cook some kidney beans w/o seasoning and taste them, now cook a ribeye w/o seasoning which is better?
Do you not season your ribeye? I season ribeyes, beans, veggies, potatoes...so who cares what they taste like WITHOUT seasoning? It's a moot point unless you have something against salt and pepper.
In the winter I make a lot of vegetarian soups and they load with red kidney beans. Also when I training for marathon/ultra-marathon the red kidney bean is my staple source of energy and protein. Especially when I get sick of eating dead animal carcass.
Mark doesn't go into detail in his book why the red kidney bean is an evil source of food? I have been eating them for 10 years without any issues.
How long did it take you to come up with that? You need a new name~ like *hypocritical vegetarian*
Mostly lectins and stuff. I use the theory that they're hard to digest and why make one's body work harder than it needs to? Don't believe me on the hard to digest? Think about how corn and kidney beans come out the other end-- still in tact. There's a reason they're called "corn poops". Sorry if that's TMI. Jus'sayin :)

It's not about the fact that he "questions" paleo/primal choices, it's that he doesn't bother to read the material that's already out there on the topic and "questions" things that have been burned into the ground thousands of times before.
Mark has done MULTIPLE articles on why to avoid legumes, and it sounds like Barefoot Gentile hasn't bothered to read a SINGLE one of them. It's not his willingness to "question" that is at issue here, it's his lack of effort that does it for me.

Ever since when do we go to FDA for information on nutrition?

Better for you or for me?
Follow the plan or not. Read the reasons or not. BFD.
I'm sorry guys.
Seriously, Paleobird, sbhikes, ChocoTaco, pk...
All that you have to say can be very interesting, but it's totally irrevelant now, that my favorite MDA poster is officially Barefoot
Gentile.
I think his vegetarian-with the half a week dead animal flesh until it disgusts you and some turkey sandwich because it's less nasty than red meat which is gross because it's all red and bloody and stuff and natural-diet is the best take ever made on the Paleo way of eating.
I'm sold.
Nice try, though.
