The plank seems to hurt my back is that normal? Am I out of position? Thanks.
Neely, I would have thought that you should not have a sore back - so yes maybe you are doing it wrong. google it and check out your form that way

1:20 today, 12 seconds better this week. :)

Gonna try a plank in the morning for kicks and giggles (and to make y'all nervous). Let's see what the pregnant mama can do!
-
I just started planks a few months ago after having been doing sit-ups with weights for years. I was amazed at how the planks work you. The most I've done was 4:30 for forearms planks and 2:30 for side planks. Most days I do a 3 minute and 1:30 on each side. Great exercise!

I've got the hang of the planks now - great exercise I can really feel it for hours after when I've done a few. I think I'm only up to around 2. 14. I'm better at press-ups I can do 50+ (53/54) in two minutes. I'm going to try to beat that one tonight.

Dr BB I so hope that you have changed your mind on that one. I think that it would not be wise to do planks - however I am not a Doctor, I am just a Mum/Gwamma who has had 8 pregnancies! Please humour me and DO NOT DO THEM !
-
I am very impressed with some of the times being achieved on this planking challenge.
Am hoping to get back into a normal everyday routine (planks, push ups, sprints, walking) in about 10 days time. I am so looking forward to it !

Why the paranoia about not doing planks? Is it cuz of the pregnancy? Cuz I don't really let that limit me. We're primal, right? Cave women did all sorts of stuff while preggo :)
ETA: just did plank. 60 sec. Started getting a little huffy puffy at 40 seconds. Not too bad.

Yep, My concerns are based around using stomach muscles that stretch and become lax during pregnancy.... I can't imagine a cave woman doing anything as extreme as a plank LOL, but who knows ???? but am not preaching, am just aware of how doing a new activity at this stage in your pregnancy could pull a muscle.....which could cause un-nessessary strain..... etc
Anyhoo I am sure that you will be listening to your body.

Walking for more than an hour pulled more stomach muscles than the plank. *Hugs* to you for looking out for me <3
