Pumpkin Pie Sludge
I love sludge. There, I said it. Basic sludge recipe is yogurt + protein powder + nut butter. I decided to polish off my pumpkin puree this morning in a quick sludgy breakfast.
1/2c Fage total full fat Greek yogurt
1/2c pumpkin puree
2T nut butter (I prefer White Chocolate Wonderful by Peanut Butter & Co)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
generous pumpkin pie spice
Mix. Eat. Enjoy this nice balance of fat, protein, and carbs :)

I used to make protein powder sludge all the time. Whey protein and peanut butter with a couples splashes of milk. Mix, stick in the freezer for a few minutes and scarf. Repeat. I haven't had any in ages, heh.

this sounds tasty...though i don't have any protein powder. i've done the pumpkin and yogurt, but never thought to add nut butter.
i think i'll make some up this weekend. does it freeze well? this also sounds absolutely perfect to put in my dog's kong.

The way I made it, it would freeze pretty solid if left in for more than 15 minutes or so... but would melt to the sludge texture again. So if your dog is fast enough I guess it could work. Also I think the protein powder is key for the consistency. Not sure what a more "Primal" sub would be. Coconut flour?

I dunno if it freezes well. I mixed it and shoveled it down my throat :D

Hmm I'd like to try this but sub coconut cream for the yogurt since I can't have dairy.
