Sleeping well now... went 2 days without any coffee. Got some caffeine in the form of diet soda but not too much. Got up before dawn and 15 min before the alarm today... hit the gym had 2 scrambled eggs, 4 pieces of bacon and half a chicken apple sausage. then, we took the dog for a short 15 min leisurely stroll. Either way, off to a good start. Last night I picked up some multi-vitamins and began those again.
I am starting to turn a corner with rest and mental clarity. Went out for dinner with gf last night to a Mexican place, where instead of having enchiladas i ordered a steak smothered in peppers and onions. Also, had aforementioned diet soda while she had her margarita. it was difficult at the time but i was glad this morning!
Here we go to start the weekend.
Since my beloved Giants are in the playoffs starting Sat night, I have made plans with gf to watch the game with a bottle of some Nor Cal Barbera... looking forward to that reward!
Hello! I am really happy I ran across your journal. I am new to this way of life and have a similar size, age, and history as you do as I'm a veteran and have been struggling with substance abuse for years. Although my situation was/is a bit more desperate, it is comforting knowing that there are others trying to accomplish the same things as me.

Thanks Toombs!!! good luck to you as well. glad you found someone to relate to on here. There is definitely a military presence on the forum so you can find people to check in with. It's funny because in the Army the alcohol is just a way of life... don't be drunk on duty but definitely as soon as you're off.

Aaaand after another weekend of too much fun. got good rest last night.. but woke up with a serious cramp in my hip. It's pretty weird so I will just do a walk and roll it out with my foam roller. if it feels better this evening i will hit the gym for some light work.
still here! feeling some gradual changes! bloating is gone. yesterday i had class on the 11th floor so i took the stairs... i will def be doing that from now on. Tonight two friends are getting married. not sure what kind of temptations will be there, but i will have fun. going to hit the gym before i go. probably do some sprints and back exercises. I have also been doing a lot of mountain climbers lately. planks are just too boring.
So, after 3 celebrations in less than two weeks, 2 of which were weddings I feel polluted. One was in DC though so a good 9.73 mi of walking was great (thanks mapmyrun). The hotel in DC had a great gym, for a hotel, so gf and i used that each day. However, i am certain that there were exponentially more calories going in than out. Hit the gym this morning for a good 30 min of light elyptical work. I know... i should go walk, but it's cold out. had a good primal meal at 10:30 and going to go for a swim and hit the steam later. 3 months until hawaii...
