He ate a lot of meat. See what happens....
To be fair, we don't know if he was a pasta/sugar chow hound during his life...betcha he was.
Found this video from several years ago. I bet he was aware of his own HBP, and though very muscled you can see he is also carrying fat. HBP pounding the circulatory system for years. Atherosclerosis probably. Sad, he was an interesting guy.

Gave up meat! Vegetarian for 3 years! Never felt b--*thud*

So... we're figuring it takes about 4 years to kill you then?
Really sad. But you know that part is going to get lost in the PC shuffle. Unless, of course, they spin it so that being a vegetarian is the only reason he didn't die sooner.
The sad part is he missed out on all those great meat dishes. If he was going to die anyway, then he might as well have enjoyed the food.
Goddamn you, PETA.

the article said he went Veg because of ongoing struggle with diseases, so he was probably in a bad condition inside when he went veg.

That's what I was thinking, he had his disease before going veggo. I bet if he had read Primal and absorbed some of Mark's thoughts he would have pushed himself away from veganism: the legumes, soy, etc. Bet Primal could have saved him. Probably ate SAD most of his life before becoming an herbivore.
I saw this post title, but nothing registered. So I am just now seeing it. Sad :(
