no reason you can't make an awesomely-functional minimalist gym in ANY space. :)
Oh, my home gym currently is in the corner of our living room and does the job pretty nicely so far, but there are limitations. For instance, my door-frame pull-up bar can only fit in the bathroom doorframe! We have a really tiny bathroom so to fit a chair in there (I'm doing modified pull-ups at the moment) is really difficult and unsafe. I'd love to upgrade to a Power Tower in the future!

Here's what I've got. Stumbled upon a guy selling his whole setup on Craigslist about 6 months back for a price I couldn't pass up..

one piece pullup/squat rack, about 10' tall.
rogue bumper plates
horse trailer mats
plyo box
jump ropes
"wall ball"
ab mat
various other minor things
I've added a flat bench, C2 rower and an old school airdyne from Craigslist as well, along with a 100lb sand bag.
I still need:
a couple hundred more pounds of plates
a better bar
kettlebells
big ass tire
Into the whole setup for less than a year's membership at the local crossfit place.

Nice set up tcb.
I would luv a rack like that, thinking of borrowing a welder and building one up in the back yard / shed. Honest it's a climbing frame for the kids....
I have
1x12 2x16 and 1x25 kg kettle bells
Adjustable gym rings
Pull up bar
Jump rope
Stability pad and home made wooden disk
Swiss ball
3 very active kids to try and keep up with
Dog that Luv's to walk/ run
Ocean 800m away... That's warm enough to swim in year round
Heaps of toys to enjoy the outdoors (bikes, surfboards, surf skis, SUP,s kite surfers, skateboards)
Want to add in a sand bag, build the KB stable more and medicine balls
Cheers

Thanks!
If I had it to do again, I think i'd prefer a full on power cage for safety reasons because I do work out alone. That being said, the height of this unit is what appealed to me the most. At 6'5" it's tough to find a cage tall enough to do dead hang pullups from.. and this is one that I can.
I made my own sand bag for about $15. USGI surplus dufflebag with two 50lb sandbags inside of it. Tied a bit of rope around it to remove some of the slack from the bag itself and to use as handles if need be.

Mine's split between the kids' playroom (Sole F80 treadmill which rarely gets used because I prefer running outside) and garage (previously owned power cage and bench I got for $60 and a 300 pound Oly weight set).
I also have a curl bar that I don't use anymore, and the power cage has a pullup bar on it.
