I noticed Trader Joes has Coconut oil, but it looks very strange. It's white and is not liquid like.
Is this something I can get at the store or is it only something you order.
Thanks a bunch for any help.

Coconut oil has a melting point around 76 degrees so it will certainly be solid in a cold grocery store. I bought the Whole Foods 365 brand for my first try. It is very good but next time I will spend a little more and buy Nutiva just to experiment. Make sure you get virgin unrefined cold expeller pressed and you should be fine. It will have a coconut taste which a few do not like when cooking eggs, etc. I absolutely love coconut flavor and can not get enough of it. Yesterday I put coconut oil on my cauliflower instead of butter just to try it and I liked it much better.
I even have coconut oil spread on Paleo Banana bread, using it just as you would butter and it is lovely!!!!
You can get coconut oil at most grocery stores these days. Mine has Spectrum readily available. Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and cooler, and liquid at warmer temps. Mine is solid in the morning and liquid in the evening when the house gets hot.
I recommend Tropical Traditions, Something Pure, Ojio, Spectrum, and EFA Gold
I rely on the TJ organic virgin coconut oil. When I get it home it turns liquid (my house is warmer than the grocery store in the summer).

+1 turns into liquid pretty quickly once you're outta TJs
Where I live the average temperature is 70 degrees and that's not because sometimes it's 100 and sometimes it's 40. It's because it's almost always 70 degrees any day of the year. I've only ever seen coconut oil as a liquid a few times.

Yup, I buy this one quite often as well. It's a great deal. Sometimes Amazon grocery also has good deals.
I melted some yesterday to grease the waffle iron to make some Eat Like a Dinosaur frozen waffles. Nom!
I get mine from a local farmer's market. It's extra virgin, organic, cold expeller pressed, and it comes in a giant 32 oz tub for only $10. I can't describe my excitement when I first discovered it.

Okay, so I looked at the TJ brand and it says it's organic virgin like you say, so that should be fine than. I have not noticed coconut oil in the regular grocery store and I really don't care much for Whole Foods but I will go there for certain things I can't get elsewhere. I am just glad TJ's has the good kind of coconut oil.
