Asparagus is high in fructans which can be difficult for some, especially those with other gut issues. I'm fine with asparagus, broccoli, leeks, onions, etc. as long as they're cooked. Some have issues even then. Partly because they're prebiotics so they feed the gut flora (issues with that can also accompany gut disorders) but also because the damage caused by Celiac disease may cause intolerance to other foods.
