Well, my best wishes to you whenever you read this. I have avoided reading the reports because they shake me too badly too.
You are the only person I know in Connecticut, so I immediately thought of you too. I am glad to know that you weren't touched directly. The indirect hit is bad enough.
Thinking of you and yours, David. Glad you are safe.
Thinking about you, David, and hoping all is well. I have a couple of other friends in CT, everyone is dealing with stuff in their own ways. Give your family extra hugs!
I am so sorry for your closeness to the tragedy in Newtown. That must have been disconcerting and terrifying, I'm lucky I was farther away.
A break is a good idea. I did that too and maybe will take some more of a break. Merry Christmas, hoping your family has peaceful holidays.
Hi Everybody and Happy New Year!
I managed to catch the flu during the holidays. I was the only one in the house that didn't get a flu shot and suffered for it. I was essentially unconscious Christmas day and under the weather until New Year's Eve. I'm still not quite right. The good news, if there's anything "good" about the flu, is that I really haven't felt much like eating since the weekend before Christmas. So my holiday weight gain was limited.
I did plenty of drinking and the little bit of eating I did wasn't at all disciplined. So I am fasting for a couple of days until I feel genuinely hungry. Then I'll try to get back into ketosis and continue on.
I hope everybody had a good holiday!
Glad you are back on top, David. Happy New Year!
Hi David, sorry to hear about the flu. We are inundated with flu patients at the hospital. But I'm glad you're better and back in the game!
So sorry to hear you had the flu - such an awful sickness that! Glad you are feeling a bit better now and that your holiday gains were limited :) Hopefully you get cleaned out with your fast and get going on the whole ketosis wagon again. Glad to 'see' you again.
Thanks for the good wishes. Things are going well in terms of dieting. However, a good friend and co-worker died suddenly yesterday morning of a heart attack. He had heart issues going way back... He'd had a heart attack right in the office ten years ago, or more. After that he had a pacemaker put in. He didn't take very good care of himself, but seemingly nothing was very wrong with him.
He was the last of the the founder's generation to still work here. All the rest of us are children or grandchildren of the founders of the business. A sad day yesterday. A few of us went to lunch to toast him, I managed to eat primally during the meal, but did have two drinks.
We move forward, some of us.
Aahh, so sorry for the loss David! Well done on your eating - and we need to make space for a couple drinks or such to 'send someone on their way'. So frustrating. My BIL had a series of massive heart attacks a couple years ago and has been following the CW diet strictly since. Now his heart function has deteriorated enough that he has to get a pacemaker - and he works in computer stuff and is going to have to quit his job because of the pacemaker. So sad - he and SIL have gained a huge amount of weight since going low fat and high whole grains etc ... but they can't see that it is bad for them.
