Hmmm as soon as I finished breakfast I started with a headache and bubbly tummy... I feel all kinds of spacey today and two people at work say I look pale. I wonder if the pesto I put on my omelet was bad, or if I am just coming down with something. :-(
Maybe my 48 hour fast will start early. I rarely eat anything at all when sick. Might kill two birds with one stone. Hope I'm not one of them.

You know, David, it is so freaking weird that you and I seem to experience the same things all the time. Are we stuck in some kind of timey-wimey-thingy? My tummy (euphemism) has been a bit weird all day and there have been a few trips to the loo. Having trouble concentrating, not able to really read. Not really that bad, but certainly out of the ordinary for me. I was wondering if the fish I had last night was a little off.
Anyway, hope you feel better! And good luck with the fast!

It is weird! I hope you are feeling better!
I'm still feeling off. I slept really well and plan to eat a light breakfast and start the fast after. I guess I'm intending to do it as a weekly thing. This will be the fourth time, so it does seem like a trend.
Since starting with the fasting, I've lost an average of 3 - 4 pounds a week. I did check my body fat percentage (the circumference method- not the most accurate but will show the change well enough). Early on I was around 38%, now I am 34%. So that is good. If I crunch some numbers, I get to a goal weight of 172. Just about what I'd guessed. That is with 10% body fat. I'll update my signature block with the new info.
I can't imagine the rate of weight loss will stay what it's been, but either way by sometime next year I should make goal weight!

Good job! Very interested to hear how your fast goes. You are really on to something.
I'm all better, oddly enough after eating a large bowl of primal slaw everything calmed down. You wouldn't normally think of broccoli, cabbage, and raw egg as being stomach settlers!

I've still got something. No particular discomfort, very minor dull headache, a touch of dizziness, unsettled tummy (lots of rumbling) and a bit of brain fog. It almost just feels like the weather. Its really heavy, humid and still out these past couple of days.
I'm hoping that if it is a bug, I'll starve it to death! (3 hours into the fast)
-
The good news is I feel better already. I can't really imagine it's from the fast already, but the headache has passed, no more dizziness and the brain fog has mostly lifted. The bad news is that I'm hungry. It's not really a bad thing, but the first 12 hours I feel the most hungry. It isn't distracting to me, I'm just aware of it.
My Grass-fed meat supplier contacted me to say she would sell me beef fat and round roast to make jerkey and pemmican! Yay! But thinking about that 8 hours into a fast is probably not so smart. Sucks to be drooling all over my keyboard...

That is great! I have to look into that. It's not like I don't have loads of organic grass-fed stuff all over the place here in Maine.
If I was really smart I would raise my own cow.

We have several Grass Fed Beef (and Pork) ranches here in CT too, but they must supply to the far more affluent West, near NYC, because their prices are way high. For the quarter of Beef I pay about $5.00/lb. I get all kinds of cuts. The local ranches charge double that for a quarter. It's a lot of meat to store 80+lbs. But it's nice to have a variety of stuff on hand.
I'm going to order 25lbs of beef (bottom round roast) for jerky and 10 lbs of fat. I'll have to render it and I'll use that for the pemmican. I'm all excited!
I've also asked about marrow bones and pork leaf lard (for pies).
This is not helping my fasting hunger issues :-)

Glad you're feeling better. And congrats on all the progress!

So my 48 hr fast is now half over. Today is the easy day, I'm not hungry at all, but I have a pleasant light feeling of well being. It's Friday, so work will not be crazy busy. I'll take a walk at lunch.
I'm cutting back on coffee, which I really drank more of during prior fasts. Instead I'm having water mixed with a little lemon juice, some powdered ginger, cinnamon (because I read it aids in fat burning) and some cayenne pepper because I read somewhere it aids in "cleansing." I put a teaspoon of cider vinegar too. It's got a strange enough taste, but I can taste enough of the cider to make it palatable.
Don't eat for awhile and almost anything is palatable.
