Wonderful!!!!
So glad your mom is home!
Didn't sleep well - tossed and turned all night. DH left early, then son, so gave up trying to sleep for now. Errands for me and mom today, stats homework, frittata for dinner, may be some laundry. Blah day to go with the rain we are having off and on. I think I need to weigh daily for awhile - I'm getting lazy with tracking my food and drink and need to up my activity. Getting a sledge hammer today, so I can shovel-glove. 14 minutes sounds doable - I'm such a sloth! :(
Slept a bit over 7 hours. Got up, got pork ribs par-cooked and into slow cooker with sauce, shovel-glove for 3 minutes (I'm a wimp, so have to work up to 14), and am now ready to go to my smooshogram. It's my day off, so no makeup and sweats with a t-shirt. I'm going for a facial, mani, and pedi this afternoon anyway. Will let you know how the ribs taste.
When it rains it pours! Mammo had a suspicious spot (nothing new that's why I always have an ultrasound to follow) on left. Couldn't find on ultrasound. I'm picking up my films from previous years and hand carrying them back for comparison. Either choice is not great. Carcinoma or radial scar that would have to be removed since 10% develop into ca and/or it hides in the spokes. So needless to say I'm not telling my parents after what mom just went through. Shared with two friends. Waiting for DH to get home.
So sorry! I'm glad you can come here and tell your primal friends about this. We are here for you!
Thanks Siobhan. I think the wait is hardest. The radiologist talked about a needle guided biopsy, but if the radial scar has to be removed I'm thinking go ahead and do a lumpectomy that they can test. I really want good drugs - the mamogram and ultrasound were painful. I can't imagine having a mamogram and needle at the same time - let alone thin wires to mark the spot. :(
Just told DH. Took it as well as can be expected. Ribs were great. Had spinach with onions in bacon fat. Wine - several glasses. And my big cheat - thin sliced baby potatoes cooked in the oven with boatloads of butter.
Ah, not nice news at all. How soon can you get the biopsy/lumpectomy?
I'll be hoping for the best for you.
Well I leave town Sunday and get back (with films Sunday). I will take to radiologist that Monday. If he confirms either diagnosis, I will call MD Anderson and make appointment. I'm guessing 2-4 weeks.
