Yup, its definitely not the big bucks! I took a 50% cut in pay when I stopped working the clinic full time. It does help that I can and must (to keep my certification) work a clinic at least 8 hours a week for 50 weeks a year. That's why I do two days when I can. People thought I was crazy, but in the long run teaching on-line gives me more mobility and the ability to continue teaching when DH retires permanently and wants to travel (I just need an internet connection and lap top). I'm relatively young (although lately my knees hurt) and plan on working probably another 15-18 years, if I'm teaching. I couldn't do that in a clinic. I finally heard from local school and they do not need anyone "with my credentials." So I will continue to travel, but hope to cut back to every other month and play it by ear during the summer. I need to run the numbers and see if I'm better off working 2 days/week at the clinic consistently during the summer instead of 1-2/month, travel, and teaching.
Up from 3-6 writing paper. It's turned in. :) Horrible attitude - just want to pass. Getting ready to take a nap for a couple of hours then one last paper (hopefully - send motivational thoughts).
Haven't been able to go to sleep. Paid bills. Played with calendar. Last paper isn't due until 12/20, so I'm not feeling the pressure to get it done yet. The one I did this morning was due tomorrow. So I may not do the paper today.
Waist down another inch. Weight staying the same, weird!
Inches off is just as good as pounds off! I don't bother measuring for myself, but when my pants start rattling around, it makes me feel good even if the scales aren't encouraging me.
It always took me three weeks to write a ten-page paper. Mind you, I was sometimes working on three simultaneously. And that was literature, not medicine.
I did the research and reading about 3-4 weeks ago. It has to rattle around in my brain a bit and then it just comes out. 5 pages not counting title and reference pages. I actually got the idea for how to approach the topic during a massage. My therapist was upset because I was thinking, but I was so relaxed I just let my mind flow and there it was! I've never been one to second guess what I write. I just proof it when I finish a section, make sure sentence structure and ideas connect and flow, check grammar and spelling. When I finish, I submit, and stop thinking about it.

I'm measuring because I need the more immediate reinforcement. I'm know muscle weighs more then fat and with the walking my legs are nicely sculptured and firm. I wonder if I will reach a time when the weight drops, if I keep putting on muscle. I've gotten quite a few compliments on my legs. I'm starting to see definition in my arms, too.
After being up 20 hours, I slept like a log for 8. Still sluggish, but no time for a nap today. Skype meeting with study buddy for stats, again. 6 student calls scattered through the afternoon and evening. After I get case study posted, I'm working on the stats final for about 2 hours. I may throw some laundry in, but that's a chore that can wait. I put a pork butt in the slow cooker late last night with tomatillos, jalepenos, and some dried chili that came with veggies. I wanted to make chili verde, but was too lazy to chunk the roast. This morning I drained off the extra juice, shredded the meat and kept it cooking on low. I've got 2 Mexican grey squash and 2 zucchini that I think I will slice and roast. I may sprinkle grated parm on some. 3 avacado s need eating and what do I do with the pomegranate are also on the list. Need to pack my lunch for tomorrow, but that happens when I'm putting the food away after dinner. It's pouring rain here, but is supposed to be in the 80s today. The air conditioner keeps kicking on and I'm supposed to be decorating for Christmas?? I've managed to put it off until I get home from The trip I leave for on Friday. I'll be gone 10 days and then the rush starts! Shopping is pretty much done. I need to make a bunch of spiced nuts to give out, but that's about it. Okay, enough procrastinating, off to start the day........
Finished stats and turned it in. :) My lazy chili verde was very tasty. I sliced some zucchini, brushed on some olive oil, a little sea salt, and shredded Parmesan cheese and baked them on a wire wrack in the oven. Very good, some where soft, some a bit chewy, nice contrast in textures. I almost ate two huge squash all by myself. :o Packed leftover chili from the other day with some queso fresco for lunch. That with a persimon will be my lunch at the clinic tomorrow. Drinking club soda with 1/4 fresh grapefruit squeezed into it. Good day all around.
Slept great. Got caught up before going to clinic with drinking the usual. Got an A on the stats I turned in yesterday. :D I'm down to a stats final and a paper from last semesters Incomplete class. I should be done by the beginning of next week, fingers crossed! Foggy and rainy here, but supposed to get in 80s this afternoon. Got my lunch ready to go. Either leftovers of eggs with bacon and veggies for dinner tonight. Hoping for a great day at the clinic.
Congrats on the good results! My mouth is watering over your zucchinis...
Lazy cooking is often very good. I highly recommend it...
