Hey, just believe the 20 pounds! Why not? In any event, you've lost and obviously a fair bit. :) And it's true it doesn't show as much at first, simply because it's a smaller percentage of your body weight. When I lost my first 20 pounds (and I was starting lower than you), it was barely visible. Now it would make me look really, really different. So I have no trouble believing you've lost that much. Keep up the very excellent work!
Crabcakes, most of my kids had never seen me this thin in their entire lives either. And the ones who had can't remember it. So yeah, they're kind of freaking. My daughter, the youngest, had never seen me run. When I broke into a run chasing a bus with her a few weeks ago, and KEPT UP WITH HER, she was totally gobsmacked. Heh. :) That alone made her believe that PB was the right thing for me. LOL!

Hahahahaah! My youngest actually asked me a few weeks ago, overhearing my conversation with the oldest two re Primal Fitness and MovNat (planning to move my buns...): "Mom, you know how to run??!!"
And here I sit (that is the problem after all - here I SIT!!), figuring I am having totally original experiences...
And about the Bus Run - GOOD SHOW!
LOL! Yes, but my youngest is 23... Imagine her shock! (Come to think of it, it was the day of her 23rd birthday.)
And that run felt good too. :) Haven't done it since, mind you.

Oh crap! My youngest is 9. I sit here giggling, imagining a 23-year-old dragging her chin along the pavement as she streaks alongside Mom... Fantastic!
Day 28 - Death by Ranch
Do I really need to put the date in the title? No. So I'm going to start headlining them. Today is "Death by Ranch" as in dressing. Horribly hot on Day 28 (like most of the USA). I come in from the heat to make a BAS and just wasn't feeling Balsamic Vinaigrette AGAIN. Yes... V-i-n-a-i-g-r-e-t-t-e. Someone could have told me I've been spelling it wrong this whole time. Come on ya'll! Anyway, I said screw it, I'm having ranch. Good ole commercial ranch, it will be SO yummy, SO great, SO refreshing. So I douse my BAS with Ranch and nom nom nom. Pardon me here... it was f*cking disgusting. I'm in shock, because ranch is, correction WAS my fave! Five bites in and I wanted to throw it away. It tasted like warm oily powdered milk. Oh wait, that's cause it is... [photo ↓] It's very clear my tastes are starting to change. After choking down what I could, 15 minutes later my stomach is hating me. Lesson learned.
4.5 hr, alarm (this was ridiculous. I'm ashamed)
B - Tuna, Carrots, Cucumber
L - BAS (mixed greens, 2 eggs, 1 avocado, other dead plant life) w/ Ranch Dressing
D - Steak w/ onions & mushrooms in butter | Sliced tomato
Snacks - Apple | Banana | Pork Rinds
30 min walk
Vitamins - Y | Sunlight - Y | Cold Shower - Y
^^^YES, you read that right. Vitamins, Sun & Cold Shower = TRIFECTA (Day 1). Boom goes the dynamite.
Yum! Soybean oil and buttermilk powder! (-_-')
There are lots of ranch recipes floating around the paleo world... think it's time to hop onto the idea of making your own! Least you know better now ;)
Ranch is one of my all-time favorites, along with blue cheese dressing. I get no respect with blue cheese in this house - my dairy-allergic-never-consumed-milk daughter thinks all dairy (including butter) literally stinks (so blue cheese just SENDS her...). The others seem to agree with her. One of the things I am going to do when I visit my family in Germany later this year is to go to a proper cheese shop!
Re the ranch - I have always used the famous dry packet mix... you at least can add quality dairy to it. But perhaps now would be a good time to try the recipes here and get the rest of the junk out.
Mmmmm BAS sounds good today. Hope you can find some place to beat the heat up in Chicago - I just walk into the woods here.

I've made this recipe before but just skip the sugar entirely. Good stuff without any "modified corn starch" involved. That one always puzzled me. OK it started out as corn starch and then was modified but into what exactly? Hmmm?
