Hey, only two pounds on a cruise sounds fantastic to me! And I find that freshly gained weight usually comes off easily too, so if you're back on track already.
It is harder when we don't get as much movement in. I've been stalled for about a month, partly due to summer treats, partly from being too tired to get out and move much. Hoping to remedy that in August.
When I'm stuck in the house with bad weather, I often just put on some good music and dance. :) That's movement too. And it's fun.
I can't relate to the lazies........ started with a bout of low energy --- continue with a stretch of hot muggy weather...... I'm hoping to get back to my walking and I'm planning to start tomorrow. :) Up with the cool air, and on with the sneakers.... :) lets GO!
I went for a walk night before last 3.6 miles and it was so darn hot and muggy I was walking and sweating bullets. this humidity has been hell lately.
I am not usually one to advocate cold weather but in this instance I will make an exception.
I aced all my summer courses by the way and am preparing for my Fall courses. I did manage to get a Saturday course for my Anatomy & Physiology II that way i am not taking 1/2 the course on line and trying to keep up and not having access to a teacher when i have a question.
I am boiling eggs as I type this. I need to get back on course as far as my eating goes. I believe the cruise made me a little relaxed about my food choices. The afternoon blahs have been coming on again, but maybe that's just work. i did notice that when i came back from vacation I was more focused and had a calm sense about me. Now when i get to work I can't wait to leave. it's not the job, it's my boss. He's an ass. And I dont mean that lightly, I mean he can be a pompous prick. Wait it may be bi-polar. Because when he is up the whole world is alligned and the stars shine bright the air smells good and life couldn't be better, but when something is bothering him personally, professionally, every body must feel his pain as well so he feels the need to be snippy and shitty to everyone. For example:
Yesterday was a professional acquaintances mother's funeral. Boss asked our Ops manager(who is part owner of our company) to attend the funeral because he may not be able to make it. Ops manager is always dressed in khaki and button up shirt because that's his job he works mostly in the field because boss doesn't want to pay someone else to come in and help out. Boss tells Ops manager that he,"boss" , is going to go to the funeral instead. Ops Manager says "well i will go too because acquaintance is a pretty close business relationship." Boss tells OPs manager not to bother going to the funeral because he doesn't have on a coat and tie to represent our company. It was all based on the fact that Ops manager didn't look the way he would have looked and the fact that he didn't want to leave the office and be bothered by going to something that didn't make him money.
like i said, prick.
Ops manager, part owner, said I don't understand where he gets off telling me what I can and can't do.
Me.....I just answer the phones and if he gives me any shit i know I have the upper hand, no one in the office can do what I do there, except my coworker who just turned 70. yes. 70. He won't let me hire someone else, to do all of the other basic BS because she comes in and works 2 days a week and is okay with that b/c he doesn't have to pay her that much. ugh.
Anyway let me go to work. *sigh* now you can understand why i am in school. ;)

meat loaf made with turkey and chicken burger/slice of cheese/mustard
I am going to the gym b/c weather has been unpredictable. This morning it was pouring down raining now it's 1/2 sunny and 1/2 not. oh yeah and humid.
so I will go and do 30 minutes on the elipticle maybe some arms and some crunches
It's usually not crowded on Friday evenings so I am hoping for it not to be.
I can't believe it's almost the middle of August already and the Holidays are creeping around the corner. Halloween, which is my favorite, is on a Wednesday this year (bummer). I usually throw a kick ass party at my house in celebration with a semi scary pg movie from 7-9 and then for the teens who dare to stay will view an R rated Horror film of my choosing and then go on a scavenger hunt in the dark, 1 little flashlight provided. We have 3 acres.If they find all of the items that have been hidden and come back alive, they get a prize :) usually some high dollar chocolate and $5 gift cert to starbucks or walmart. I have fun hosting this event but this year I will be at the race track with my decked out golf cart trying to win best decorated.

So hubs didn't do as well at the race track as we hoped Sunday.... today I had to take DS to the Allergy Ear nose and throat doc. .they are going to do a scratch test on him for allergy testing and he has like 4 things to do for his sinus issues. Doc says it must be severe sinus allergy we just need to figure out what is causing it. i hate to say things like this but I hope it is flour. That will be one less person i have to buy crap for. i hat e it when i buy the crap and it's in the house.
Although this weekend i was asked if i was losing weight and then they told me they could tell.
So this morning I tried on a pair of shorts from May that barely went over my hips.....they fit. i pulled them up and buttoned them - i can still stand to lose a few few more inches in them BUT I wore them all day today. :) Size12 magically delicious!
i'm not gonna go crazy but I know it's working for me.
I need to sit down and read PB again - It helps. I know i can be down another 15 in 3 months.
i did exercise the other day on the elliptical felt good doing it. :)

Talked to hubs yesterday about the Whole 30 program. He kind of freaked when I said NO beer or milk/cheese for 30 days. and I said it's only 30 days, and it will get the ball rolling on losing some of our stubborn fat. I am hoping it will get him eating more on the primal side of things like I do and help his knees and their achiness.
He is coming around and I said I would start September1. NO slip ups. NO excuses. Labor day cook out we will avoid, and eat before we go.
I am cleaning out the pantry this weekend. I will take all of the processed crap to the donation center and make the carrot cake I have been saving, and take it to the cook out.
I don't use sweeteners anymore so that won't be a problem. I have plenty of no nitrite cured bacon so wrapping cheicken kebobs is easy and hubs will eat those for lunch. Meat loafs, and chicken and eggs and seafood + lots of veggies (hubs is picky so this will be his struggling point) NO GRAINS...nada. NO DAIRY, milk, cheese, yogurt, kefir...nada. NO SUGAR, fake or real...nada. NO ALCOHOL....nada. WHOLE 30. limit my fruit to one per day.
It's 30 days. I can do it ;) you want to do it with me?
