No kidding. A little rice here, a chocolate dip with my fruit salad, cappuccinos with honey there... Nothing earthshattering, but it adds up.
Now you see why I took the crock pot this last trip!

Yeah, I do see. But in the evening we were usually out with somebody and at noon it was a big rush (and then often out with somebody too). I still think it is a fantastic idea though.
Winencandy, I just wish my waistline agreed with you. It was fun though. Both times. And now back to business.
Kefir is good in a smoothie! Adds a nice tartness especially when using sweeter fruits. Very refreshing in the summer. You can use the extra grains once they accumulate to make a kefir cheese or use those in a smoothie too. With all our moving and upheaval and no money for milk for a while my grains went to kefir heaven. I am going to be ordering more as soon as I can :) I also give the chickens occasional treats of kefir grains (they grow fast enough that I can't always keep up with eating it!) and they go beserk for them! And our dog gets the kefir that gets too yeasty smelling or extra grains. I love the stuff and try to always have some in the refridgerator. The kids will come and ask me for some if they don't feel good for some reason and it is so good for settling an upset tummy too.
Welcome back to the world of low carb ;) Glad you had fun and that it was not too much either. Important to be able to partake wisely in those situations without going off the rails completely.
A mouthful of wasabi?!? Woooo!

Thanks for all the info. :) Kefir cheese? Sounds interesting.
Not off the rails completely but the scale informs me that I have to do penance nonetheless... *sigh* Oh well, you have to celebrate sometimes.

Woooo! is right. I will be more careful next time. The waiter thought it was pretty funny too, when I told him about it.
Exactly right -- celebrations always involve indulgences! So if you're a bit on the upside -- don't worry, cuz you'll have it back it down in no time!
I am staring down 179 on my scale and daring it to appear! :) I will be doing the happy dance when I see it!!! My strategy -- staying on course and staying active!
Good strategy. :)
So here's today's report:
2 fried eggs and 2 sardines for breakfast + coconut oil
Sausage and kale for lunch + coconut oil with cocoa and stevia (because I was already sick of it straight up)
Cauliflower with butter for supper + you know what. Plus a couple of ounces of kefir.
I feel stuffed. But the proportions weren't excessive, so I guess it's all that protein and fat. This better work...
2 km walk in there somewhere too. I picked myself a bouquet of wildflowers and fall leaves. :)
:) I have always dreamed of planting a picking garden along the front our lot for passers-by to pick and take home. We have 125 feet of street frontage and it would be lovely! Take out the driveway and its about 110 feet that could be planted with all kinds of nice flowers for picking and putting in a vase for the table. But I have never got serious about it. Maybe one day.............
One always hopes that maybe the scale won't show what one's been eating and then one won't have to do penance - and it never works!! Good for you getting back onto the wagon and your plan sounds good. How much coconut oil do you take now? I skipped it today because I was out all day and didn't want to deal with feeling bad while far from home and then going to sleep with CO reactions doesn't work so well either. I am still only taking it once a day - it is rather overpowering in one gulp. Might have to come up with a way to make it a little more edible. Now if that was cream or butter it would be no problem :)
I wish I could feel that energy boost that CO is supposed to give. I don't feel any differently at all when I eat it. I could use a bit of energy right now!
