Would that be a form of regifting?? :o
Would that be a form of regifting?? :o
And now I have a shopping bag with a cat pic on it...will it never end? I might like some of this stuff if it was artsy/edgy/ironic but it is really schmaltzy.
This isn't a real problem, mind you. What a world that would be, if I only had to worry about stuff like this! Another trip to the thrift shop in my future. Although now that I have a bag, I should just wait and collect all the kitsch in one swoop.
Actually my mom gave me a hoodie with cats on it that I love. The cats are stylized, they look kind of like tattoo art. And it is black with brown print, pretty cool really. I wear it all the time. So I'm not totally incorrigible.
Haha! Good one! Since there is no chance the giver will ever visit my home, I dropped the figurine off at the thrift shop on the way home...hopefully it will bring joy to someone...someone else...
Lol, unless she finds it at the thrift store and gives it back to you to "complete your set!" ;-)
I almost snorted my decaf at that description of your cabinet, David. "Problem solved." LOL!
They really have you pegged as the crazy cat lady, don't they? Do you talk about them a lot or something?
I hear you on the kitsch thing though. I'm not a Precious Moments kind of gal either.
You know, I don't talk about them at all. I actually don't talk about anything personal at all unless asked a direct question. All my co-workers have pets, and they know I have cats. One of my co-workers is an actual crazy cat lady, she has 15 or so in the house and a feral colony outside. Also she has nine dogs. All rescues. I think she has some rabbits and guinea pigs too. We collect damaged and discarded linen for her.
I have sinned mightily. I just ate four small cannoli. Were they ever good! I am paying for this, my chest is burning like a little mini fire has been lit inside.
OH MY --- thats too many animals for one house........... can imagine the smell???? We have a crazy patient at the clinic who takes her 4 large dogs with her every where she goes - so they are in her truck barking while she is seeing the doctor........ she always smells like a wet dog!! Not kidding............ its gross.
So......... what is this viral video that you mentioned? can you link it for me? and is this YOUR cats in the video?
Ha ha ha - just love the spot that you made to set all the unwanted breakables David!! That is such a great idea :) We are going through our Christmas ornaments at the moment and there are a bunch of them that are moving on to different owners. Christmas ornaments are so dependant on a persons taste that one should really never buy ornaments for other people.... I have a whole lot of them that are really yuck, not my style at all, but I hung on to them because I felt guilty for not liking them! How silly - they can be shared with others (who think they are adorable) at the thrift store instead.
Yeah, my church put out a call for ornaments because the tree looked a little bare and got enough to decorate the White House. Apparently Christmas decorations are something that people tend to hang on to, whether they enjoy them or not. I also have a truckload of stuff I would like to rehome, but I didn't get it to the church in time. The pastor had to bar the door against any more ornaments because the tree was going to collapse under the weight of everything, and the entire hall was going to be blocked by boxes, like in those hoarder homes you see on TV.
My favorite internet cat is Henri, le Chat Noir, who has several videos on YouTube and a lively Facebook page. I can't believe I go on Facebook. But it makes me happy. I'm heavily into irony.
Well, I'm paying for the cannoli binge. I woke up this afternoon stiffer than stiff - every joint in my body aches. Back, wrists, feet. I used to feel like this all of the time! No more cannoli. If I have to binge on sweets, it can't be gluten containing sweets. The horror! Also some IBS symptoms, which I will spare you.
Decided that the remedy for gluten inflammation is protein and fat. I got my hands on some locally made sausage - pastured pork. Now, this sausage is not like the stuff you buy at Krogers. It is much more, shall we say, earthy? Basically it is ground pork in a casing, quite large. I didn't really know how to cook it. I boiled it in chicken broth for awhile, then sliced it up and fried it in butter. Unbelievably good.
So tired! I guess working three nights in a row and getting maybe 4 hours of sleep a day will do that to you. Choir practice tonight, which is good because it will keep me from going to sleep to early and getting all messed up, being awake at 3 AM, etc. I have a busy weekend planned and I don't want to be all groggy. :)
Yeah, that kind of schedule will do it to you, alright.
Now, your cannoli experience illustrates perfectly why I have been so afraid to even try to find out if I can handle wheat. I don't want to feel like that! Oy. Although, on the other hand, it will serve as a perfect defence when trying to ward off overly-enthusiastic foisters of pastries and such. "Do you know what happened to me the last time I ate something like that? Are you trying to kill me? Let me tell you how it went..." Between guilt and pure boredom, they will flee and leave you alone. LOL!
