Well. I just came home from the grocery store with enough meat for an army barracks. A 3-lb rib roast. Hamburger. One and a half lbs. of haddock. Lamb chops. Bacon. I was quite hungry and so I cut up a red pepper and ate it with fresh mozzarella and avocado. Feel great!
I realized that I have unknowingly cut dairy down to almost nothing - a splash of milk in tea. But I just bought mozzarella and asiago. This will be a bit of a test. We'll see how my skin does!
I have opened a nice bottle of red and am enjoying it immensely!

I vote for ham for the Thanksgiving dinner. Although I consider the turkey a sacred item on the menu. With gravy and cranberry sauce. I know that's not strictly primal, but once or at most twice a year, in moderate proportions...
I was kind of surprised that you would be watching a Christmas movie (and yes, that's my favourite too) on Thanksgiving, when I remembered that you Americans consider Thanksgiving the kick-off for about six weeks of the "holiday season". And then it made sense.
I will admit to preferring our lighter version. We can ramp into the Christmas season whenever it suits us. Unless of course, we belong to one of those churches with a strict calendar.
You could feed the potatoes to the goats...

No ham. The rib roast is being dry aged in the refrigerator for cooking on Thursday. And some sweet potatoes and possibly some tapioca bread, which is very like a popover, which is very like Yorkshire pudding, which I used to make on holidays.
I got up this morning and then realized it was an hour earlier than I thought. Woo-hoo! Found time! I launched a frenzy of activity. Cooked a big batch of thai coconut chicken soup with no meat (can be added later), cooked the fish, set the roast to age, seasoned and froze the lamb chops. Cleaned and swept and watered plants. Was very happy to use a lot of stuff in the fridge in making the soup. I am really doing well on not throwing away food, which is a huge savings. And now I have a lot of food ready for the next three nights/days as I am working.
For breakfast I put a lot of salad greens in a big bowl, added a piece of fish and then put the broth I just made over the top. Great breakfast that really gets the day off to a good start.
I'm off to swim now.
-
Had a great swim, ran into some friends, and registered my car. Ouch! I don't care, it's worth it. Got new plates and put them on. I'm all official. I also got the new insurance bill in the mail, but I didn't open it. No need to rush it!
I'm so glad I have my home in decent shape, very comfortable, a good reliable car. I feel like I'm heading into the rest of my life in as good shape as I could be.
Also scored BIG at the thrift shop. I stopped by there because my mom suggested a zigsaw puzzle for relaxation before sleep. After looking at the cost of new ones, I decided to look at the thrift shop. Not only do they have a better selection, they sell them for 25 cents. I got another plate for under a plant for a nickel. And a really nice L.L. Bean cardigan in green, my favorite, and a really, really nice brown pullover from Barneys! Goes great with my Ralph Lauren pants from last week. I'm quite the label girl these days.
Heated up the hamburgers from last night with a dab of blue cheese. Had to fight off the carnivores. Reminds me that I never found the chunk of steak they ran off with.

Methinks that chunk of steak could be found in the litter box. ;)
New car, new apartment, new clothes, new body. Yup, you've refurbished practically everything. So what's your next project?
-
No, I clean the litter box twice daily, would have found it ages ago.
My next project is to enjoy life. Exercise more in a fun way. Pay bills! Settle in for the winter with all my great stuff and enjoy what I have and put $$$$$$$$ towards paying for stuff. In the spring maybe look for a new job. No shortage of projects.
I got out a few of my rocks and have little rock sculptures all over my desk. Kind of like cairns. Endless combinations.
Well, off to work. Maybe I will get a chance to get caught up on journals. It's been awhile.

I meant they pooped it out...
The rock sculptures sound like a great stress reliever. Your own version of an executive sandbox.

They couldn't have eaten it; it was too large. It's around somewhere, I really need to find it!
Here I am at work, all is good. Listening to stories on the radio and eating soup. (I got my work done first and now I am taking a break.) Feeling very primal.

on the kitty poop subject.......... my neighbor calls that "Kitty Roca" .................. there, you'll never want to eat almond again! :)
-
Ever see that cake recipe that looks like a used litter box? I could never eat that, even if I ate wheat and sugar. Totally revolting. Of course I don't mind my own darlings's poop. It's other darling's poop that grosses me out.
Speaking of gross things, back on the smell subject. Since I started swimming all of the time I really, really, really don't smell. The chlorine must kill the bacteria on my skin. Which is not, of course, entirely a good thing. I don't smell like chlorine, though. Life is much simpler when you don't have to worry about being smelly. Which isn't really a problem anyway, compared to Real Problems.
