Looks like a lot of fun! I'm glad you had a good time. I was off on nutrition this weekend too. Feeling the effects already by way of exhaustion, lethargy and disinterest. We'll get it back under control.

It sounds like your weekend was great fun. Kayaking is amazing, great upperbody exercise + a cool way to travel. Kayak to work, now that would be fun (not if you wear a suit though).

Yes - the weekend was wonderful - just wish I wouldn't have caved on my resolve to stay 100%. Oh well - its 2 days out of my life, right? Today I'm back in the game.
Well, you can't go back and fix it, so there's really no sense in dwelling on it, really. Just let it go and move on. Like you said, it's two days out of your entire life... Unless it makes your fibro flare, I'd say "no harm, no foul" on that one and forget about it. :)
Wow -- got all caught up on the journals........ now I have to tackle the pile of mail for the boatshop and prepare a deposit. Yuck.
Its 10:30 and still haven't had any breakfast. Dinner last night was salad with shrimp and a peice of salmon, then a little too much almond butter for a snack. UGH. I think I'll start the day with a couple eggs.
I stepped on the scale this morning to see what kind of damage I did over the weekend. It was what I expected. When I drink I usually see a 3 pound gain, then over the coarse of the next 3 days it all goes away. So, if that is the case, I'm right at about 183. Thats a 5 pound loss since I started the 21 day challenge. I'm pretty happy with that.
I'm not walking today since I had a very active weekend of hiking and kayaking! (I love that I can actually say those things! after 12 years of being too fatigued and in too much pain - I have a new lease on life!) So - today is a rest day.
Thanks, Judg ----- I'm going to read through that post a little slower and take some notes. :)
Okay - our weekend was absolutely wonderful!!! Best 2 day vacation of my life! :) We hiked about 3 miles around Hope Island after a short kayak ride to the island from the boat. Then we kayaked around McMicken Island - its pretty small - maybe an acre, so the trip around it in the kayak took maybe an hour. This was first time kayaking so I was pretty excited about the whole thing! :) Here I am:

Pretty cool huh? 52 years old and I'm just starting to hike and kayak! :) I didn't quit make it foodwise though. Yes, I had rum and diet coke ---- and I even ate a couple peanut m&m's and oreos! UGH! All in all I'm good with it though. I just won't be able to say I did the entire 21 day challenge without cheating. Its not like ate pizza or a hoagie sandwich or anything. It was just a few. Tomorrow is new day and I'll get back to being 100%.
We'll be going back up next weekend to bring the boat back home. Then she'll be put to bed for the winter. Bummer. :)
What a lovely picture! You should zoom in and get a head shot from that for your avatar. You're much prettier than you give yourself credit for. And I am so jealous of the whole weekend and your kayaking too. And I'm so happy for you and your new lease.
Yeah, I cheated a bit this weekend too. Like you, just a bit, so it's not a big deal. Back on the horse. I passed up on most of the opportunities to cheat, so all in all, I think I did well.
BTW, do you eat tomatoes?
You are my hero! I so very much want to hike and kayak. I am 46 and grew up in Florida but have done none of those things, primarily because I always thought I was too fat and uncoordinated. My biggest problem now is I just have no one to do it with. Still trying to figure that part out but determined to get there. How wonderful to now there are others who were where I am and made thier dreams come true. Thank you!

Gosh..... I've never anyone's "hero" before! I'm quite honored! :) And you are very welcome! :)
Judg......... I take a good picture from afar...... :) not so much up close.
I don't eat tomatoes. 1. I don't like them 2. tomato-y sauces always give me an acid stomach burn, so I'm thinking I have a sensitivity to the little red devils. 3. I do love ketchup though - and it doesn't seem to bother me. Go figure........
here's another one --- hiking on Hope Island. We took a little detour off the path and had to do a bit of climbing to get back to the path! It was almost straight UP! and hubby thought he should snap a pic of me struggling to find a foothold! Then he reached down and helped me up!

I think I need a haircut! I have no style or shape, it just hangs there............ blah!
Anyway - it sure feels good to have the energy to do this kind of stuff again - and at my age, I'm pretty happy about that!
