I mowed the grass -- TWICE!!! I mowed it once, without the bag, so it mulched....... then I let it dry for about an hour and mowed it again with the bad ON so it picked up all the grass that had dried out a bit! :) That means I walked a total of 3 miles today! :) yeah me! And now, I'm totally pooped out! I think I will sleep really good tonight.
Hubby is late tonight........ probably won't get home until 8:30 ish. He's bring home dinner, so I hope its something light, like a salad or a chicken breast with veggies..........
Hubby still doesn't really get what I'm doing or how I'm supposed to eat. He asks me if I can eat anything from the LoveLove Teriyaki down the street! HUM ---- NOPE. When we go out to eat he always wants to eat at the mexican place or Mangolian BBQ. I have about 2 choices at the mexican place - and have to exercise GREAT restraint to not eat the heavenly handmade tortillas - or the chips and bean dip! And Mongolian BBQ is meat and salty sauces fried with RICE! Good heavens - I've been doing this since November of 2011 - and he still thinks I'm going to eat that stuff.
Change of subject......... I've realized I no longer need to wash my hair everyday - maybe every other or every 3rd if I haven't been very active. And, I don't use conditioner anymore.......... my hair is just silky soft without it. I've also noticed that I'm tanning WAY faster and easier than I have in my lifetime! Wonder whats causing that? My arms have a very dark tan and I haven't been in the sun very much -- cuz Oregon has been cold and rainy 99% of the time! Not complaining - just sayin'
Are you taking Vit D supplements? Maybe that's helping your tan ;) . Or eating foods rich in melanin and carotenoid (carrots, melons, apricots, peppers, spinach).
I was wondering about the vit. D - I take 4000 IU/day. But not much on the other stuff - except carrots -but thats only 3 or 4 times a week, maybe 2 carrots at a time. Must be the D! whatever - I'm happy to have a healthy glow this year!
So - last night hubby called to say he's stopping at Applebee's for take-out! He didn't call me before he ordered so he got me the Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad......... NOOOOO! We just had a conversation about 2 weeks ago about that salad - and the number of calories and fat and carbs it had! I told him I was never going to order it again! (even though its my favorite). Well, he forgot. I ate it, but didn't use all the dressing - just enough to taste it. So, my overall numbers were really good yesterday - but a little high on total calories. I'm hoping the walking and mowing was enough to offset the food.
I already walked my mile this morning - the flowers are so pretty! I want to stop at every yard and take a little snip off the roses so I can start a rose bush in my yard! Probably best to ask first....... :)
I'm getting excited to go stay with my best friend for a few days next week! We're going to go see Magic Mike! :) Today is my last day of work for an entire WEEK! I have to work next Thursday - if I don't do my job then the medical biller can't do her job - and she won't be very happy about that.
Okay - breakfast is overcooked and over nuked tuna loin....... good flavor, but CHEWY! (no sauce for dipping!)
I have ground beef thawed for hamburger steaks on the bbq tonight and will make steamed veggies to go with.
The house is void of all my weaknesses! No ice cream, no dark chocolate, and no almonds. Yes, the last 2 are good for me - but I over eat them, so best not to have them in the house.
I'm trying.......... Its SO easy to not eat the grains, rice, beans..... but the sugars......... thats a tough one.
We have to know ourselves, don't we? I can't resist an open cookie bag. Cookies were banned years ago. Well, maybe I could resist them now, at least on good days, but I don't want to eat grains anyway. I do make up some almond meal cookies occasionally, but I haven't even felt like it lately. :eek: I'm very good at resisting things in stores, because I'm cheap. LOL!
I'm cheap too! I won't by any of those "acceptable" flours because they all cost 5 times what wheat flour costs! NO dessert is worth spending that much on.
We're thinking about going to Vegas in February! :) I'm looking online to see who's going to be there and what shows we could see. We aren't much for gambling, so it would be shows, people watching, hotel cruising and relaxing my the pool. I don't know - we'll need to discuss it some more.

I was really full after dinner, but am feeling a bit hungry now at bedtime. Good thing I have NOTHING to snack on -- unless I want to munch on a carrot stick.
Getting ready to spend the weekend at the lake. Its fireworks weekend! :) Planning for the food .............. taking steaks and sweet potatos for Saturday night dinner. Eggs and bacon for breakfasts. Home canned tuna for lunch (with mayo for the hubby, plain for me). I'll take some almonds and fruit for snacking, and hubby wants chips and salsa. He also wants cookies - so I'm going to take store bought chip ahoys ............. he loves them but I think they taste like greasy preservatives - yuck! I was going to make peanut butter cookies - but I know they would be too tempting for me. So I'll take cookies that I don't like. I'm trying to be smart about this....... how am I doing?
I think I've got my momentum going again! :) Maybe I'll take off some weight before I slow down again. Seems to come in waves........ its a constant roller coaster of being on top of the game, or struggling to get back in it. Right now - I'm on top. I want to stay here for a really long time so I can see a really nice weight loss!!! I have to get back to 186 before I can start counting the pounds - but I think I'm pretty close. I stepped on the scales tonight after dinner - and with clothes on and it was 190. So I guess I'm probably at 187. I'll find out in the morning. I haven't weighed first thing in the morning in a few days cuz I was doing so bad last week - damn ice cream!
I know my visit with Lynnie next week is going to be tough....... she's trying to take off a few pounds before she leaves for Korea - but I know she's gonna want to party!!! Which for us old ladies will mean a little drinking, and eating fun food. She knows I'm trying to stay on track with my eating so maybe she won't be too insistant on having "bad" stuff!!! When we get together --- we like to have fun!!!! Once we were on a business trip together to Phoenix and we went out for dinner to Chili's. The waiter - probably 15 years younger than us was seriously trying to pick us up!!! He was trying to get us to tell him where we were staying and said he would meet us there after he got off work!!! We were flattered of course......... but didn't tell him what hotel we were staying at! We love to remember the time the HOT young waiter was hitting on us! I think his name was Mike....... He cooled it when I accused him of being a "tip whore". Our husbands got a kick out of the story too! Good thing they both trust their wives - and know we are faithful to a fault! So you see........... I need to be on my guard next week.
I'll need all the support I can get girls!
its 2:30 am.......... couldn't stay asleep. Partly cuz the bedroom is a bit warm tonight - but mostly cuz hubby likes to snuggle and it makes it even hotter! I don't like to be hot when I sleep. Also -- my tummy was really hungry, so got up and made a couple fried eggs. I think that should do it so I'm heading back to bed now. Luckily I am free to sleep as long as I want tomorrow! :)
I had a terrible nights sleep! Late to bed because I forgot to take my knock out pills at 9 pm. Then awake almost hourly most of the night. Up for a little something to eat at 2:30 cuz my stomach was part of the reason I couldn't stay asleep. Then wide awake at 7:20 and thinking about what to do with the day.
I jumped out of bed and started taking apart the bed - to wash the bedding - but also to MOVE the bed so I could finish the painting project that I had started 2 weeks ago. I asked hubby to help me move things but I guess he forgot. So, now the wall behind the bed is all finished - and I have only 1/2 of the smallest wall in the room left to paint. But, thats is the wall that has the armoire on it - and it holds a huge, very heavy tv! I'm not sure how I'm going to do this part.......... But I'll figure it out. By the end of the day that bedroom and bathroom will be painted and all put back together! :)
Weight this morning was as I expected --- 187. Now to get back down to my lowest at 186 and I can start to count the numbers again. :) Feeling good! Thanks for all the encouragement!
