Once they invented DoubleStuff, I never went back. Regular Oreos seem so skimpy now. That enormous glob of creamy sugar just hits ALL my buttons. Luckily, I have never been tempted by the Dipped/Covered Oreos. That just seems wrong to me.
I've never been tempted either Sabine...
And to me, an Oreo isn't satisfying unless it's softened in milk... The cookie has to be softer than the cream, but not falling apart b/c it's soaked, to be satisfying to me. There's a perfect medium there when it comes to dunked DoubleStufs. :)
And I REALLY like the Golden DoubleStuf. If they ever make a gluten free version, I'll be in serious trouble!
You guys are really working on staying tempted, aren't you? LOL!
I am getting really weird. I stir-fried a panful of cabbage in butter for a snack the other night. And I loved it...
haha Like I said, Judg, unless they come out with a gluten free version, I'm good. :)
You guys crack me up!!!! Remember - the goal is to NOT eat processed foods. I believe oreo's of any fashion are processed - am I right? :)
My body is being stupid again. I'm back up to 186. If I was a potty mouth I'd use a really BAD word right now!!! But I don't use "that" word!!! I'm drinking water and green tea like I'll die if I don't! I've had 2 LARGE mugs this morning. Now I have to go to work and I'm going to be running to the bathroom every 20 minutes. What the heck is happening? It has to be the after effects of the sugar and the wheat and the RUM over the weekend - and the oreo's yesterday morning. I've been putting a couple tsp. of honey in my tea too...... maybe should cut that out as well? Maybe I just need to dive into a whole(for the rest of my life) way of eating. I woke up this morning with these saddle bags under my eyes!!!!
I was so excited to see 181 on the scale - and now I'm looking at 186 again................ crap!!!!
We're having company for dinner tonight - friends, but he's also our financial guy. We need to change my IRA plan to match what my hubby has cuz he's making lots more money than I am! And we need to do the end of the year - hand him some big checks to ADD to the fund. Thank you, Lord for a stellar year at the boatshop! :) Anyway - I'm making beanless chili and cornbread. I'll skip the cornbread and have veggies instead.
Its noon and I haven't eaten yet - just not hungry.
I walked nearly 3 miles yesterday - will do it again tonight after work, after I get the chili simmering.
Hope you are all having a great day! Its grey and dreary here.......... makes me LONG for spring!
what should I get to substitute for honey for my tea? stevia?
Why not just reduce the amount until you don't use any? Or how do you feel about coconut milk? I feel like it tastes naturally sweet on its own. Stevia is generally the preferred no-sugar sweetener around here though. Some people use xylitol, which is apparently good for you teeth, but that's mostly for baking.

Say it isn't so!
I thought they were laid by puffins. :(
HAHAHA!!! Puffin Poop = Oreo cookies! I love that! (or hate it depending on which way I'm looking at it - as a joke or as something I ingest)
I've tried doing the no sweet thing - its okay - but I don't like it enough to keep trying. I bought stevia today and its not bad. :)
So - I have the beanless chili cooking. The sad part about this is that I vaguely remember serving this couple the same dish last time we had them over for dinner. I'm very tempted to quickly thaw out something else.............. it would be very easy to thaw and bbq some chicken breast - and still have the roasted veggies too. I'm baking brownies (boxed) for dessert for everyone but me. Dang it!
I ordered Maca yesterday........ as did lots of other women, I imagine! Who doesn't want to boost the old libido? I'm ANXIOUSLY awaiting its arrival so I can start taking it. TMI warning: before the big M(enopause) - I was quite healthy in the libido department - twice a week was normal - and the big O (you get that one) was like the atomic bomb!!! NOW..... eh, I could really care less - and the big O is more like a sneeze. I'm mourning the ATOMIC BOMB! Please, MACA, you HAVE to HELP ME!!!
Okay - done sharing ultra personal information to the cyber community. :o
Sent a text to hubby........ but I'm thinking I will take out some chicken to bbq. I don't want them to think the only thing I can cook is beanless chili! I can still make the cornbread to go with bbq'd chicken breast and roasted veggies - right? Oh - I know - I'll make the chicken recipe my son came up with. He fries a frozen chicken breast and bacon together, then cuts up the chicken into little peices once its mostly thawed, adds chili powder, paprika, cinnamon and cooks till the chicken is done - then adds some chopped carrots, fresh spinach and red onions. Its REALLY yummy! :) thats what I'll make. Will partial thaw the chicken first though. And we have the beanless chili for the rest of the week! :) bonus!
that sounds interesting, Tomi. I'm not one for using cinnamon on anything unless it's meant to be sweet. To me, cinnamon is a sweet spice, not a meat spice...
I'm ordering some maca today. :) My big O is still pretty good, but like you, eh... sex isn't important to me much since having kids. I'm a mom more than a woman, I guess. It just seems like a lot of work to get to the point of a big O. His is much easier to accomplish so I'm inclined to aim for that. Hopefully the maca changes my ambition. :)
Dinner was good, but I didn't put enough spice into the chicken. The roasted veggies turned out PERFECT! The company and conversation were great! Good evening - good times. :)
I ate 1/2 a brownie. It was DARK chocolate! oh well.
