Haha I was going to ask if you knew what those were! I'd guess water droplets too.

Did the Epsom salts help?
Every time you think about an Oreo (do this on purpose for a while) visualize the nasty consequences. Your goal is to see that Oreo not as something delicious, but as a bringer of pain and problems. You'll find them easier to resist once you've learned to think of them that way. The food equivalent of a pusher. Stuffed full of chemicals too. Blech.
Here's to the 170's! How are you going to celebrate when you make it?
I did this after reading Wheat Belly. Once I read Wheat Belly, gluten has pretty much been off the list of foods I'd venture toward. I have my moments where gluten enters the picture, but once I learn there's gluten in something, I'm usually completely turned off by it. So, Oreos are out... I recently learned my favorite candy bar (Whatchamacallit) has gluten in it... I was so disappointed. About that and Good & Plenty... so sad. :(
Have you read Wheat Belly?
Well -- I got so caught up reading about the Maca Root - in Marks post today, and suggested on the She-groks page - that I haven't yet made it to the epsom salts bath....... and with the clock reading 11:50, I won't be going there until AFTER work. Oh well............
Great suggestion for mentally turning oreo's and anything else bad for me into a "causer of mysery" (how's that for proper english?) :P I will definitely meditate on that! Everytime I think I need something "treat-like" I will think "pain, fatigue, bloating and weight gain" ............ that should help. On that list will be cookies, rum, those handmade tortillas :( , refried beans and cheesecake! EVIL FOODS!
Judg - you're always in my corner! HUGS!
Celebrate for hitting the 170's???? I think a new sexy bra might be a good reward......... for myself - and hubby! something lacy and see threw?
You could call them "misery whips". Even more imagery!
I like your reward idea :D Almost makes me wish I had any physical goals right now.
"4 double stuff"
560 calories
80 carbs
28 fat
4 protein
SOOOOOOOOOOOO not worth it! and to be totally honest............ they aren't the least bit satisfying to my taste buds. Just leave a sweet greasy feeling in my mouth. UGH! I think I will research the FDA's approved bits of nastiness for all commercially made cookies. I mean, if they allow 9 RAT hairs per candy bar --- what kind of grossness is allowed in factory made cookies? BLECH!
Report to follow this afternoon after work........... :)
:(
I did not want to know that.

I haven't read Wheat Belly yet, no. My co-grandmother did, swore off wheat, and noticed real improvement. She will eat my son's bread though, as he ferments it very thoroughly, using natural yeasts (sourdough) and she says that it doesn't bother her the way most other wheat products do. Which makes sense.
I first heard of using that technique years ago, Tomi. A fellow was standing in line at the cafeteria, and as he reached for some dessert or something, a picture of his father's face, who had just died from a heart attack, came up in his mind. He put the dessert back. For him it was no longer something to enjoy, but something that had helped kill his father. Or something like that. Just associate all your pain and discomfort, and all the frustration you feel when you're having trouble reaching your goals, with those foods, and the temptation will shrink. The Skinny on Obesity helped me a lot there. Maybe it's time to watch it again.
The point is to stop seeing it as something good you're being deprived of, but something that is actively hurting you. I won't say I never get tempted or that I never cave, but not very often anymore.

ignorance may be bliss........... but in this case - its also FATTENING! damn cookies!
Once they invented DoubleStuff, I never went back. Regular Oreos seem so skimpy now. That enormous glob of creamy sugar just hits ALL my buttons. Luckily, I have never been tempted by the Dipped/Covered Oreos. That just seems wrong to me.
