Paula inspired me with her goals:
Exercise at the gym 3x/week minimum.
(I am paying $40 / month for my local gym. For the last 6 months, I have only averaged 1 visit / week. I love it, but I have to use it otherwise it is not worth the price.)
Strive to live grain and sugar free.
(A nice, positive way to look at it. Unfortunately, half measures don't work for me.)
Create a Budget, Follow it. Pay bills on time. Save Money.
(Goal 1:To improve credit score and refi new car)
Organize and Purge one room or house section / month.
(Preparing for the FH yard sale on Memorial Day Weekend.)
I plan to emulate her goals, but of course, personalize them for me.
Exercise 5x per week
My gym membership is free at the gym at work, so I might as well just use it. :)
Follow our budget. Work to remain in the black each week.
Our bank never sees the red, but I do. I need to... correction, WE need to stop the extra unnecessary spending that puts us in the red each week.
Purge one room of the house monthly.
Donate all that stuff to Salvation Army. Make one drop per month.
Strive to live grain and sugar free.
I love this. It's positive. But it will probably be the hardest one of them all.

Day 1
Getting some last minute carb items eaten tonight - i.e. baked potato.
Day 1, Tomorrow, Wednesday, looks like this:
Calories 1347
Carbs: 26 (7.7%)
Fat: 98 (65.4%)
Protein: 68 (20%)
I need to find a way to bring the protein down a touch and increase the fat... given that, though, I have 150 calories left that I can squeeze some fat into if I need to. Not sure what it'll be...
Here is my food list:
B:
2 boiled eggs
3 slices bacon
1/2 avocado
L:
3 oz sirloin steak
8 oz brussel sprouts with bacon and onion
butter
D:
3 oz pork chop
1/2 bag steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrot medley
butter

Good Luck, Jenn! :) I'm sugar and alcohol free until our vacation in Feb. - then minimal alcohol and hopefully very little sugar. I plan to make some primal treats with stevia so I won't want junky-food-cookies.
Day 1 for me is today. Been a great day! Totally primal and right on with calories. Walked 1.25 miles. Stood at the ironing board for HOURS making the curtains for the 5th wheel.
High fives on the eating plans! :)

Adjusted my plan a touch. Not sure if I'll need all this food or not, but it's there if I do.

Total final breakdown:
Calories: 1606
Carbs: 8%
Fat: 64%
Protein: 21%
Weird... that's only 93%... where'd the other 7% go??

Feels like it's been a while since you've had a tracking post like that. Good to see you getting back on board! Good luck!

Ugh, not a fan of avocado... I'm forcing myself to choke it down... 2 bites to go... Ok, gone... it seriously makes my stomach turn. How do I make these taste good? Salt did not do it, unlike what someone told me to try.

What about with eggs? Are you just eating it plain? I like to have a little bit with every bite of eggs. Also, are you sure it was ripe? I don't go by the color of the skin. It should have a little squish to it when you squeeze it/press it with your thumb. It should look like this inside:

though I guess there are guides for the color and ripeness:

I did the fingernail test and peeled back a bit of the skin by the stem to verify it was green inside (read that on here somewhere, I think). It looked like your picture and somewhere between a 4 and a 5 on the other scale. The first bite I took was with the yolk of my boiled egg. Other bites were pretty much alone. Someone told me to put salt on it, so I did. I also sprinkled it with lime juice b/c I cut it up last night and didn't want it to oxidize overnight. It remained green. So maybe the salt killed it or maybe the lime juice. Probably the lime juice b/c come to think of it, my eggs tasted off too. I'm sure I got lime juice on them too.

Overnight, you can wrap it up (don't slice it more than just in half) and scrape off the browned layer when you eat it. They don't keep for long.
Avocado doesn't really taste like much to me. I've made lazy pudding with it, just added honey & some cocoa powder, and it's pretty good.

I don't like it alone either, Jenn, but guacamole is a different story. Husband makes a quick batch an I eat 1-2 tbsp with scrambled eggs. Awesome. I can hardly believe it's still avocado!
1 very ripe avo
juice from 1/2 lime
1 shallot or red onion finely minced
um...fresh parsley when we have it
and maybe salt & pepper
I think that's how he makes it. I lick the spoon! I scoop it up with pieces of bacon. Sigh.
