Might be because you didn't meet a goal. You're a very goal oriented person - my perspective given the projects, the fasting, etc - so it makes sense to me that if you don't hit that goal of 420 calories, you'd be a bit bummed.
Sabine, good for you sticking to this even when it is tough! And I have to agree, it is easier to eat nothing than just eat a little - but you are doing it! Well done!
Grrr. Our brand spanking new dental insurance is not accepted by our dentist. Honey has a cleaning scheduled for tomorrow. After that, we will have to find a different dentist if anything major needs to be done. Hardly worth it for the 6 more weeks he will be employed, but necessary, in case we have an emergency.
I think you are right about the goal thing, Jenn. I will have to be more Zen about it.
Coll, oh my goodness, why does it have to be that way?!? Seems so strange that I am HAVING to eat when I don't really (mentally) want to. What universe is this that I've slipped into?
Feeling sorry for myself
More pains yesterday, and they started up bright and early this morning. :(
But I DID get a project done- painted a corner of the house eaves. The tricky part, where you are sort of dangling over nothing as you paint. The rest, though lengthy, will not be as intimidating. And I will get lots of up-and-down exercise.
Here's how yesterday went:
Up at 5:30
8:45 1C creamed spinach
2 slices bacon
1:15 7 lamb meat balls with
1T a-1 sauce
1/2 of a cucumber in yogurt
spicy cream of tomato soup
2 small pieces chocolate, 1 macaroon
5:45 hash made with corned beef, sweet potato, onion, mushrooms, and cabbage
fried in bacon grease
9:30 strawberry-rhubarb yogurt
Water: 9 glasses
Bed at 10:00
I did have a very good night's sleep last night. Woke up early feeling perky. And our grocery started carrying full fat yogurt. I won't have to mix in my own cream. Ah, convenience, I love it!
I think I am going to investigate FODMAPS this morning.
I can't help but question the suggestion to eat yogurt for your probiotics. I understand it's plentiful in probiotic goodness, but it's also plentiful in sugars, even the unflavored ones. Did your doctor say anything about that? Do you also take an over the counter probiotic?
I am taking a probiotic. At first she suggested Activia, and when I demurred at the sugar, she said plain yogurt would be fine, as long as it had live, active cultures. I found whole milk plain Fage greek yogurt, which has 9g sugars/carb per cup. I have half a cup at a time, so I think it is okay for my carb level. Especially since most carb counts are done by difference calculation, and some nutritionists think the action of the cultures consumes most of the carbohydrate.
I had sauerkraut, but looking at the FODMAP list, I see cabbage is on there, so I might not indulge in that for a week.
Grrr. I miss my days of blissful good health.
If you're doing dairy anyways it may be worth it to try keffir. I personally don't like it but some do. It's a fermented dairy product that has a lot of probiotic cultures.

I love kefir, fortunately I am able to buy a locally made raw milk kefir. I don't eat it very often because it comes in a huge jar that is hard for me to consume before it goes bad, even though it lasts for a long time. It is like yogurt but it is effervescent - imagine fizzy yogurt. If you can get some of that, I would recommend it.
I've had fizzy yogurt before... it scared me so I tossed it. lol
