Show, then aid - Sabine

I realized (after flitting through journals pretty much all day) that I am somewhat giddy.

Got all my chores done (including a 6 mile ride for vittles) and decided to tackle a writing project that I had put aside for months. Might as well use all this energy for good, and not evil. Pulled out the tub (after hunting through tubs for the right one) and started sorting the papers that I had just thrown in there in a fit of despair. Research, notes, inspirational quotes, ms pages, outlines, fascinating craft techniques with attached notes leading me in awesomely different directions, cards from friends, office supplies-binder clips, paper clips, post-it notes, markers, highlighters.

Taking a little break right now, as I felt overwhelmed, but my goal is to have a stack of ms pages to go through tomorrow, to figure out where, exactly, I am in this story.

Honey called this morning to let me know he had his own cubicle, and was setting it up. :) I think he felt weird, being away from me, and wanted to touch base, because ordinarily he is not a phoning guy. Or maybe he just knew I would want to hear 'job news'. Either way, it is sweet.

Okay, back to sorting.

My hunny isn't one for talking on the phone (unless it's to one of the guys about racing, then he can gab like a girl forEVER), but if something is exciting him, he'll call me. I bet your honey is excited and wanted to share that excitement. :) Kudos to him for sure.

This book is the first of a four-book series about four sisters. I have completed (let me think) four manuscripts, and drafted four or five more. Like most beginning writers, I started off very ambitiously. My early works are crazy long and complicated. This series is, I hope, more in tune with my present talents.

Middlest needs the internet, so off I go.

Okay, quiche in the oven, and errands set up so that once the quiche is out, off I go. Laundromat, credit union, post office, grocery. This afternoon, I will be trying to take a nap, because tonight (now, don't get your panties in a ruffle, GayPanda et al, if you are reading this) a friend is taking me to the midnight show of Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part II.

Yes. I like Twilight. Like the books, like the movies.

I also like Austen, Bujold, Christie, Dickens, King, Trollope(both of them), Weber, and many others.

Here's what went into my quiche:
Roasted the yellow* and red pepper*, peeled them, and cut the yellow one into chunks, and the red one into strips.
Cooked two strips of bacon, then in the grease, cooked 2 mushrooms, a shallot*, and baby spinach* and arugula*. Tossed the diced bacon and yellow pepper back into the mix.
Standard egg* and cream mixture, layered with the veges and bacon, sprinkled with a LITTLE cheddar, and topped with the red pepper strips neatly spoked across the top.

* All this was from the food bank. There were a lot of cans, but I was impressed with the fresh produce and eggs/cheese/milk. Very nice.

Okay, it just came out of the oven. Looks great. I snapped a picture to memorialize it. Now, off I go on my rounds.

how does one plan a 4 part series of books? Is each book about one sister or all four sisters? If it's about one sister each, then I understand. :)

Alanar is likely going to at least be a two parter, possibly 3: one for the lead up to the war, one for the war, and one for the happily ever after.

Jenn- Each book focuses on one sister, but the youngest sister's story is also played out over the course of the four books, more so than the other characters.

I started re-reading this morning, to see what needs to be done, and so far, I am enjoying it. I have yet to decide if that's good(I'm a great writer after all, nothing needs to be changed, let the crowds bow down before me) or bad(I have no capability of judging my own work, I'll never be able to edit this, it is dreck and I just can't tell).

You know, typical writer fears. We can worry no matter what.

Naiadknight- what genre is your writing? Alanar: sounds like fantasy or sci-fi.

It kinda goes from fantasy to sci fi/ fantasy over the series.
