Spent yesterday moving my mom. Will finish everything but hanging mirrors and pictures today (pictures and mirrors are for Thursday as it's hard to drill, screw, and hold heavy stuff on the wall without another strong person).
Lost 7.2 pounds in the first week of new attempt at primal. Won't probably lose while moving everyone. Don't know if I build muscle or just hold on to my fat when moving people or backpacking or distance running or what, but I never seem to lose when I'm doing lots of exercise for very long periods of time.
Haven't gone off primal at all -- being busy 24/7 helps!

7.2 lbs is a huge turnaround in 1 week! Congrats!

Good on you! You should feel great about yourself.
I read an article a little while ago in which chefs compared grass-fed beef with beef that had been 'finished' with some grains, and they unanimously liked the grain-finished. Seems a good compromise because the animal is not fed nearly so much grain as conventionally-raised.

Grain finished is a nice way to get a bit of marbling. It's got a great O3:O6 ratio still without being overly lean like some grassfed can be.

Pam, so happy to hear you're doing well! I have to agree, I do like some marbling in my meat ... and honestly, some of the grass fed (not all by any means though) can be very dry. I know part of it is how you cook it - but to me there is nothing more delicious than a good ribeye done on a fire with crispy yummy fat!!!! I am with you on reading to the kids - one of my fun things to do and so many wonderful memories connected with that.

I got some pastured ribeyes this weekend. We tried grass-fed and finished sirloin a couple of weeks ago and were less than impressed by it. I'm hoping the pastured, grain-finished will be better. Brad thought the fat on the grass-fed and finished was unpleasant tasting. I thought the meat reminded me a lot of deer - dry despite being cooked to medium doneness. I'm sincerely hoping the pastured, grain-finished beef will taste better, and be juicier.
Glad to see you're doing well, Pam. Great weight loss results! :)

Hey Pam, looks like I missed a lot when I was AWOL. Glad to hear things are going relatively well, even if they're crazy hectic.

Aaah, nice to see you Pam! Looking forward to hearing how you are doing despite the stress. Which language are you studying? We are just getting going on Gaelic at the moment ... took a break over the summer. Piano sounds good - good stress reliever! I need to get going regularly with my bagpipes again - I miss playing and it really is a fantastic break from the everyday stressors and boring routines. I have not been doing so well this summer - I hate the heat and have had a lot to do especially with my gardens - outside of course. I find I have no energy left for much else once I get indoors. Just trying to cool down again. Have a great day!

Life throws us off-balance sometimes, doesn't it? Well, climb back on, and welcome back. It's true that Labour Day seems like an ending, and September a new beginning, doesn't it? Probably programmed into us from so many years of school.

Nice to see you here! Good luck with your mom and with your food. I keep meaning to pick up some French lessons online or somewhere - I've watched so many French films I feel like I know quite a bit already but I can't speak it worth a d@#^.
