I started the 21-day transformation yesterday. Also, I've started incorporating BodyRock workouts into my week. Funny thing about today is that I was going to challenge myself to "unplug" from the internet and iPhone no later than 8 pm. What is Mark's post about today?? The same thing....how ironic!!
Successful day today! I declined an invitation to go out to lunch and enjoyed my BASalad. I also avoided eating popcorn at 3pm this afternoon that was offered to the entire staff! When I got home, I did my workout too!!
Whew...I managed to do pretty good at the Braves game last night. I had a Smoked Turkey Cobb Salad with Red Bridge ("gluten-free") beer. Although when we got to our seats, Red Bridge wasn't an option, so I had a few Blue Moons. I can tell this morning that I had gluten too :( Anyway - focusing today on being gluten free and will get in my workout later this morning!
Trying to fast until dinner today with the exception of coffee....
UGH...I'm ready for this bloat and belly fat to go away! I literally look like I'm 6 months pregnant!
Wow - I just found out that I am pregnant. Only 5 weeks along now, but see what living Primal does to you:) I do not have my first appointment until June 27th, so I'll know more then. Me and hubby are still in shock! After having a miscarriage about 6 years ago, we just assumed we really couldn't get pregnant since we've not been preventing pregnancy over those last 6 years.
My plan is to continue living primal as much as possible. Luckily, I've not had any morning sickness yet, but I have noticed a little bit of nausea when I have not eaten in a while. I've also had a few food aversions...My Big Ass Salad is not looking very appealing as it used to. I'm still okay with meat and eggs...just trying to figure out how to get my veggies in.
I wish I was a little bit more fit now, but I'm hoping to get my exercise in every day for two reason: 1) For an easier pregnancy and delivery, and 2) To shed the pounds quicker post-partum.
Until next time...
Wow - its been a long time since being here. My pregnancy went very well with the exception that I was not able to stay on my Primal/Paleo way of life....especially the first trimester. I was nauseous the first 12 weeks but was lucky to only vomit once during that time. It was amazing how my taste buds changed - for instance, I couldn't stand the thought of meat or veggies and only wanted carby crap most of the time. Needless to say, I gained 50 pounds with my pregnancy.
Little one was born 3 weeks early on January 26th, weighing 6 lbs 4.5 oz. Today was her 1-month check up. Time is definitely flying by way too fast!
I've already lost 30 pounds, so I have 20 more to go to get back to pre-preggo weight and to be able to fit in my normal clothes. So, on Monday, Feb 25th, I decided to kick back up my primal lifestyle by doing the 21-day transformation challenge. I'm already feeling better!!
Anyway - just wanted to check in and make myself accountable!
Day of Delivery (1/26/13): 235
Today (2/26/13): 203
Goal: 165 by 12/31/2013
So far so good. Today was my 2nd day this week of primal fitness. I'm starting at the very basic level but it feels good to just move.
50 wall squats
30 wall push-ups
15 double leg assisted pull-ups
2 minutes plank on hands and knees
My eating has been primal since Monday. Tonight I'm baking a spaghetti squash casserole made with squash, ground beef, diced tomatoes, onion, green pepper, and garlic....yummy!
This mornings weight is 203 at 35% BF....long way to go to LGN!
Yesterday was a success until dinner...but I'm not going to worry about it. A good friend of ours came over to see the new baby and brought us lasagna for dinner. Of course, I wasn't going to turn it down. So, I did have some and it was delish! It showed a little on the scale this morning (yes, I know I shouldn't worry about the numbers on the scale) as I was up a pound to 202. Yesterday I was down 2 pounds to 201. All is good though. I had a yummy primal breakfast this morning - boiled eggs, avocado, and a little salsa all mashed together.
I have been able to do 2 bodyweight workouts this week. Does playing with the baby all day count as "play time"? I'm up and down on the floor throughout the day....sometimes doing a turkish get-up type movement with baby in tow. If so, I've had play time pretty much every day:) Now...if I can just get that sprint in!
Congratulations on your new baby! I look forward to reading your journal again. I have heard from others on here that it isnt always easy to stay primal while feeding a baby so don't beat yourself up if you slip every now and then. Good luck!
Thanks roodz! I definitely couldn't not stay primal while pregnant. My hat goes off to women who can.... :)
Primal update: I've been doing okay this week. I've had a few slip ups (read: pizza and beer), but I'm slowly but surely getting back on track. I have been lifting heavy things 2-3 times a week for the last 2 weeks, so I'm beginning to feel stronger. Just taking it one day at a time....
