Sorry I've been away for so long. I tend to not post on the weekends but yesterday was a different kind of day. On sunday I found out that I didn't get the job I was hoping for. I made first level of interview (which was a submitted history of my experience) but no face to face interview. This honestly was my first heartbreak in years. I had my heart set on this job so to not even get an interview was a real stinger. Anyways- I guess all I can do is look forward. I'm taking a tour or a culinary school on the weekend. Hoping to see if I can get second career funding from the government.
-
Sorry to hear that. But culinary school, that is a great opportunity. Maybe you are meant to be a primal chef and bring primal food to a larger audience and make the world a better place!
And that duck looks awesome - I mean it, beyond belief, I can just about taste it.
-
Hmmm, duck. Bummer about the job interview, but I nod my head in agreement with siobhan.

Been going through my old journal entries. Specifically the ones from last winter- partially because I'm looking for patterns... well one's been found and it's as exactly as I remembered it. Weightloss just doesn't happen in the winter. My first big loss before the ball got rolling again was over the month of April. I think I'll do the same thing this year- a "no weigh" April then back to regular weighins again after that. As it is I weigh myself almost every day now and I know it's unhealthy but I also know that as long as there is snow on the ground my body will not want to lose any of my storage.
-
I was looking over my journal for weight loss patterns too and found something that is probably not unique to me, but of course when I figured it out, it was a major AHA! I lose a few pounds, then stabilize, then lose, then stabilize. And it seems like my body just needs to do that. I can't lose this mythical 1 lb a week or whatever the magic number is supposed to be. I go down 2 or 3 and hang there, then repeat the pattern. And the body just hangs on to weight at certain times. There is a satisfaction to going with these natural cycles.
-
@Siobhan I like the cycles to a certain degree... that being said as much as I love winter I want the snow to clear and the sun to come back so I can start shedding
So I've been given the privilege of getting a direct contact email for Carnival Cruise lines so I've applied with them... so much going on as far as directions I want to go in to get myself moving forward again...
Sore as ever! I haven't really talked about my exercise routine lately but this week has been especially awesome! Tuesday was swimming. Wednesday was an amazing dodgeball game followed by 75 abmat situps at 50 pushups. Yesterday was death by airsquats and shoulder strength and today is a much needed rest day as everything hurts... :)
After posting about my idea of doing a no weigh april (because april is traditionally the first month of warm weather around here) I figured why just not weigh in at all for all of march too? After all it is the first of march. So I weighed in this morning- still my plateau weight of 245- then put the scale away. It'll come back on March 31st then go away again for april.

Hey Ecks,
I am new to the community and I just wanted to say, your story and posts are a major reason why I decided to join and begin to post myself. Thanks bro for your honesty. I hope to see more from you on here.
-
I think that is a great idea (no-weigh March). And welcome, Rowdy! Ecks is a great inspiration to lots of us.
-
Thank you for the welcome Siobhan. Questiom, who is your avatar waiting for? :D

For anyone who hasn't made it over to RowdyTike's journal head over and give it a good read!
Tike- I've gotta say (and I know I said it on yours but I think the community over here will like it too) that you've got a great sense of humor and attitude! Congrats on your longest IF and your fasted workout buddy! It's a huge accomplishment!
So me thinks my internal clock is telling me something magical- winter is near it's end. I've noticed since friday that I can't stop eating when I sit down for a meal. This hasn't happened since last winter at the turn of seasons. I think it's a post hibernation refeed. I wasn't as hungry during the winter and all of a sudden I have no problems polishing off 2 meals worth of food. I just went through an entire chicken and a massive pile of carrots! Delicious but I was hoping it would last for more than one meal... Either way tummy is happy :) Hopefully it's a sign of the end of the snow.
