Congrats, sounds like you've done well!
With the family, pick your battles. Just give them lots of yummy primal food to choose from and don't worry if the choose something else.
One thing I thought I'd mention, the Greek yogurt. In one of your posts you said it was low fat, was it only low fat on that occasion?
The thing with yogurt is that when the make it low fat, they tend to put a load of sugar in it instead.
The full fat yogurt is lower in sugar and, I find, more filling and less more'ish. :)
Thanks Misabi, It's a good Greek Yogurt, I chose the low fat last time because it had more protein and less carbs, no sugar... the full fat IS nicer. You're totally right about picking my battles. ;)
B: 200g Greek Yogurt, an apple, 30g muesli
L: leftover tortellini dish from the pre-primal freezer supply, oven roasted cauliflower and zucchini, shaved parmesan.
D: BBQ - 1 chicken drumstick, 1 piece of beef, 1 sausage, 'bucket' of salad, last bit of the primal ice cream and a handful of those fabulous strawberries
...Oh yeah, 3 little glasses of bubbles.
Not so bad for a Saturday.
B: 200g Greek Yogurt, an apple, 30g muesli
L: salad leaves, 50g smoked salmon, capsicum, ceasar dressing, 2 poached eggs, shaved parmesan
S: fell apart and had 2 light hot chocolates and a piece of (gorgeous, devine, scrumptious) Chai date cake
D: Frittata Aleta (MDA e-book) and a big salad with leaves, tomato, mushroom, cucumber, avocado and lime juice
Other: several cups of herbal tea, water, oh damn... a couple of little (home made!) dark chocolates as well
So obviously I need to stop cooking, I know that, have known that for a long time. Not happening! Onwards...
B: 200g Greek Yogurt, an apple, 20g muesli
L: Half a capsicum stuffed with beef mince and veg mix, extra mix, small piece of flax meal 'bread'
D: Potato and chorizo frittata a big salad
Other: several cups of herbal tea, a couple of small homemade chocolates, a light hot chocolate, water
OK, I'll start adding the activity as well
Morning: 30 mins of mixed exercises - crunches, squats, planks blah blah blah, over an hours worth of walking around the garden with spiky shoes on, then just a normal day in front of the computer and doing normal chores, cooking etc.
Not very consistent at this journalling business am I?
B: 2 little pieces of homemade grain free 'bread' (an experiment, a successful one, will be good for the kids), 2 poached eggs, 2 1/2 rashers of bacon, fat included (oh my)
L: 2 leftover chicken drumsticks (with skin, another oh my moment), random leftover veg, incl potato, beans, carrot, zucchini
D: salad of leaves, prosciutto, pear and baby bocconcini
Other: several herbal teas, water, a cappuccino, several glasses of bubbles.
Hope you've all survived/are surviving Thanksgiving... and glad we don't do it.;)
Oh activity... 30 mins of exercises this morning. Saturday is normally my one hour walk day but it was too rainy this morning, so I will do that tomorrow instead. Nothing else of note, random gardening and wandering the mall, that's all.
B: scrambled eggs (2 with milk) and a basic veg stir fry, another piece of the 'toast'
L: beef mince and spicy veg stir fry with salad veg
D: kids made nachos ;), not terrible nachos, but still nachos
other: one small primal muffin, several glasses bubbles, herbal teas, water
One hour walk in the morning, and hour of gardening (mainly pruning, carrying, raking) in the afternoon
A pretty good weekend food wise. :D
B: blueberries, greek yogurt, flax seeds
L: primal scotch egg with veg stir fry
D: prawn grokamole salad, lemon caper mayo dressing
other: herbal teas, water, 1/3 teaspoon coconut oil (yep, finally took the plunge)
Monday is my 'day off' exercise as I need to have the boys at school by 7:20am...
Looks like you're doing really well! Kids might need some more carbs, the low carb thing is mostly for those of us who need to lose some weight
B: pear, greek yogurt, muesli
L: one of those 'throw everything in' salads, with a little tin of tuna and topped with some leftover dressing from Monday
D: spicy chicken mince meatballs with oven roasted potatoes and veg stir fry, I have to admit that the meatballs had couscous in them... in my defence I only used half the amount ;)
other: a piece of primal slice I made for the kids (oh come on I have to make sure it tastes good), water, herbal teas, one light hot chocolate, 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil (new addiction?)
Tuesday is yoga day and I LOVE yoga, so 90 minutes of yoga and a 30 minute walk.
Oh, I have to add that I love the PB forums. You people are so funny and irreverent and your views are incredibly diverse. This is like a breath of fresh air after spending several years frequenting a conventional weight loss forum... largely inhabited by super sensitive overweight women. God, they'd all be in tears after one post here. Love it!
