Husband, and not passing judgements, just stating fact.
Sunday
B: 200g low fat Greek yogurt, an apple, 20g almonds
L: Couple of pieces each of brie, blue cheese, pate, fig paste, handful of biscuits, beef kebab, chicken leg, succotash, pumpkin and spinach salad, piece of almond pie, piece of pear and chocolate tart, cream, many bubbles.
D: See Lunch, minus the pate, paste, tart and cream...
Thank goodness that’s over with.

Woohoo my PB books just arrived!!!
-
Monday
B: 150g Greek yogurt, 50g muesli
L: leftover chicken legs and salads
D: chicken kiev, pumpkin, spinach and pine nut salad again, tomato and avocado slices
Other: made chocolate cake for the kids and licked the bowl, had about 12 macadamias, drank two light hot chocolates
Not too bad for a Monday following a Sunday of debauchery.
Oh I must record that I slept like a log. Woke up twice and went straight back to sleep, 8 hours easily. I can't wait for the time when this is such a normal occurrence that I don't need to record it for evidence.

Tuesday
B: 200g Greek yogurt, 100g blueberries, 20g flax seed
L: Salad with a tin of salmon
AT: too many macadamias and a muesli bar
D: Chorizo, calamari and risoni salad.
Now the risoni was a little bit and would have been OK if it wasn't for the muesli bar... I'm working on it.

Oh, so I missed a day or so. Guess what? The OH is reading Primal Blueprint! O.M.G.
-
Well I have lost the plot the last few days, eating pretty Primally but just way too much. Should be easier now though as the whole family are joining me in my Primal pursuits for the coming week. Should be good as long as I can keep the lunch boxers happy.
-
Now where was I? Ah yes, the great Deakin Primal experiment. It's going quite well really, the men are putting up with it, humouring me perhaps, and perhaps they are getting together and muttering about me behind my back. Don't care.
No-one has mentioned that they are feeling faaaabulous, but I suppose it has only been 48 hours. And I am suffering, self inflicted suffering, by 'having' to taste the things I am making to go in their lunch boxes. Found this lovely bunch of very handy coconut flour recipes. Choc chip cookies for tomorrow's lunch box? Tick.
Onwards.

OK, a few more days of food honesty
Sunday
B: 3 small feta and spinach fritters 1/2 a scotch eggy type of thingy
L: 3 small feta and spinach fritters, 1/2 spicy beef stuffed capsicum, carrots, beans, corn
D: Curried chicken clafouti, stir fried broccoli and carrots
Snacks: a small cookie worth of choc chip cookie mix (strictly for testing purposes you understand as I tried a new recipe for the kids lunch boxes using coconut flour), 2 PB protein balls, 4 small wines
Hmmm, doesn't seem so bad when I write it down... perhaps I've forgotten something???
-
Oh dear, I think the youngest is suffering from carb withdrawals, he's REEEEEALLY tired, and he is the one who is doing this with the most dedication. The others are still emptying a bucket of sugar into their tea/coffee. Not R though, he's 'suffering' through all the healthy food without comment.
On a positive note, the musician has not had a nosebleed for at least the last 4 days, coinciding with 4 days wheat free. Hmmm, yes it COULD just be an incredible coincidence, but he's taking medication which makes him extra prone to nosebleeds and has probably averaged almost one per day for the last few months.

Primal week wrap up
We actually did pretty well. I'm going to continue to cook this way for everyone and see what happens. The boys will probably go back to their usual breakfasts, it's just easier that way, but school hols are only a few weeks away and they can be a bit more adventurous then.
Thursday
B: 2 Feta and spinach fritters
L: Leftover beef salad with coleslaw
S: Piece of Chocolate Paleo Snack Cake with a handful, the FIRST handful of the season, of homegrown strawberries
D: Mussaman beef curry with a big salad
We promised the boys that we'd go out for Chinese tonight to celebrate some music things they have done in the last few weeks, so that will bring Primal week to a crashing close.
