So after 3 days with diarrhea and an unintentional 24hr fast (because any food was just going straight through) just pumped out 1 1 x 18 pull-ups and 1 x 50 push-ups :-)
As my stomach has continued to be upset all week (finally seems to be back to normal), other than the test I did on the 28th I haven't been training. Truth be told I've hardly been eating either.
Other than the 24hr fast I mentioned above, I found that I could only really stomach an avocado, banana and whey smoothie for brekkie on most days and either approx 100g of home made jerky or small dinner (mainly meat). Anything else seemed to send me running pretty quickly or make me feel sick.
It certainly hasn't hurt my progress with push-ups, as you can see below. In fact, I re-did the last workout in the program thinking I may have lost some strength, but I did even better than I did last time! I actually managed to finish the let set:
Followed up by 62 pull-ups in 6 sets.
Don't have scale so can't weigh myself, though will probably be visiting the outlaws at some point this weekend, so will weigh in there just to see if anything has happened there.
Training for this week, the sickness last week certainly doesn't seem to have hurt any judging from the continued progress.
To be fair, I ended up having a longer break in between the 4th and 5th set as I had to chop an onion, a couple carrots and throw a chook in a pot with them. 5 mins max rest instead of the 1 min 30 I shoulda had.

Fuckarounditis has struck again!
Got bored with the 100 push-up workout , got lazy again for while.
4th of Feb I started using the You Are Your Own Gym iPhone app, following the 10 week 1st class program, which I finished a couple of weeks ago. Have been doing some ad hoc workouts since then and am now deciding wether to repeat the YAYOG at 1st class, but increasing reps/intensity as needed, or try stepping up to the next difficulty level.
Also heading in a beach holiday in a few weeks and vanity has kicked in, so I'm joining in on the "steak and eggs" experiment. Recently I've really upped my carbs, eating a couple of large red kumara/sweet potatoes per day, in addition to a couple of pieces of fruit and berries.
Pics from Thursday 2nd of May:
Started Friday 3rd of May:
Approx 280g of steak and 3 eggs fried in butter for breakfast.
Approx 200g of steak and 6 eggs fried in butter for dinner.
Drinking plenty if water though out the day and Himalayan salt on both meals.
According to paleotrack track today's intake looks like this:
Dinner. I'm going to need to start getting creative, or a photo journal is going to get boring pretty quickly 😜
So last night turned into an impromptu carb night.
Had a family birthday dinner, where the vast selection of dish almost always includes a platter of either/both beef or lamb steaks, so I didn't take any with me. I say, almost because last night they didn't :-(
So carb night it was! Malaysian Chicken curry on rice and potatoes, followed by a couple bowls of Gula melaka but without the coconut milk.
There may also have been a spoonful or two of chocolate ice cream, somewhere along the way :-)
I woke up really hungry this morning, but always walk my dogs and do some chores before brekkie in the weekend. So after walkies and fixing my exhaust, I tucked into steak and fried eggs.
Brekkie today was approx 250g of steak finely sliced and cooked in a 5 egg omelette, cooked in a couple of table spoons of butter and topped with plenty of rock salt.
Then had fun trying to explain the steak and egg experiment via skype, to my parents (in their 60's & mostly primal) and two of my aunts who're in their 70's! Lots of "that sounds like Atkins", "but you aren't suppose to eat more than 3 eggs a week" and "wouldn't want to stand behind you in a queue with all those eggs" 😄
After a good workout tonight I mixed it up and scrambled 6 eggs, with fresh rosemary, thyme and a little dried chilli flakes, accompanying approx 500g of rump steak. Tasted great! The flavours made a good change from straight steak and eggs.
heya misabi!!! tell me are you eating steak and eggs for breakfast and dinner? so twice a day or three times? do you reckon i could do venison and eggs? i have a deer to eat!
