Your location: Chicago area
Age (If you want): 32
How Primal are you: depends on the day...aspiring to be moreso.
Do you consume dairy: pretty much every day. yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese cheese.
Do you drink coffee or tea: seldom for both.
Motivator for switching to Primal: trying to lose weight/avoid some of the health problems that run in the family (heart attacks and diabetes).
Favorite exercise: inline skating.
Favorite Primal food: avocados. I've given up cutting as much fat as possible and gone back to enjoying nuts and avocados (portion controlled, yes).
Best part about being Primal: Not feeling like i have to cut nearly all of the fat from my diet. (I was doing weightwatchers online and boy do they ever penalize eating fat...)
Worst part about being Primal: Semi-vegetarian (I eat fish) low-carb fast food barely exists. (And a pile of iceberg isn't enough calories for a proper lunch). I make my own lunches when feasible.

Your location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Age (If you want): 31
How Primal are you: 80-90%
Do you consume dairy: Yes. I gave up dairy for a while on the diet, but suffered from crippling night-time leg cramps. Tried calcium supplements, but found that only a daily yogurt and a little cheese made them go away. I only do raw milk products.
I'm actually severely lactose intolerant, so I'd like to phase dairy out some day if I can get the muscle cramps resolved. Lactaid isn't cheap! I've also noticed that my chronic elbow rash has returned along with the dairy. Going to see if I fare any better on goat's milk.
Do you drink coffee or tea: tea w/coconut oil
Motivator for switching to Primal:
I was a vegetarian for nearly 10 years and it caught up with me the past few years. Last winter I caught 10 colds! A few of them developed into sinus infections and/or eye infections (both eyes at once). I had frequent canker sores, sometimes as many as a dozen at once. Had a positive ANA blood test. Doctors thought I might have lupus. That's what got me researching diet and autoimmune disease. Stumbled across paleo/primal and the rest is history.
Favorite exercise: Pull-ups. I could literally only do 1 this time last year. I'm up to 20 now.
Favorite Primal food: Steak
Best part about being Primal:
Not being sick all the time. Not being embarrassed to take my shirt off at the beach (I was textbook skinny-fat). Easier, tastier meals!
Worst part about being Primal:
Having to explain to everyone that dietary fat is good for you!

Name: Marianne
Your location: Altrincham, UK but I am Austrian by origin
Age (If you want):39
How Primal are you:I have been slowly getting used to the idea...have been incorporating it over the last 2 months
Do you consume dairy: Since I have a central european background with lots of dairy, I have no problems digesting it so yes I do have full fat milk in my tea, some cream, curd, cheese, sour cream and sometimes a bit of whey and buttermilk
Do you drink coffee or tea: herbal tea and assam, no coffee
Motivator for switching to Primal: I do not want to be sick all the time ( have been suffering with all kinds of things over the last two years since living in the Uk) and wanting to get back to my "normal" weight
Favorite exercise: I love walking, interval training and free weights
Favorite Primal food: eggs and avocado
Best part about being Primal: feeding your body what it needs
Worst part about being Primal: finding it difficult to adapt to social situations when it comes to family gatherings and work related events and getting your head round the simplicity of it all.

Your location:Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Age (If you want): 31
How Primal are you: 100%, 3 years now.
Do you consume dairy: no
Do you drink coffee or tea: coffee
Motivator for switching to Primal: general health and well-being, plus my migraines that I've suffered from most of my life virtually disappeared. Huh? Go figure
Favorite exercise: I'm a bodybuilder, anything that involves biceps.
Favorite Primal food: My AM pre-workout omelet
Best part about being Primal: The way I feel, the way I look, the feeling that I finally woke up (kind of like Neo in the Matrix) and am one of the enlightened few
Worst part about being Primal: Ugh, everything social. Trying to explain what I eat and why I eat it, trying to eat out and stay within primal and not have the waitress spit in my food when I order the fish without the sauce and instead of the potato, can I have extra vegetables? My non-primal boyfriend guilting me into white bread. The best thing about this lifestyle? Me. The worst thing? Everyone else.
Oh, and then there are the people that want to look like me, ask me for advice, and then don't listen to anything I say.

Your location: Tucson, AZ
Age (If you want): 28
How Primal are you: 75%- I'm great at home, but occassionally eat legumes with my partner who is not primal, and prefers not to eat as much meat as I do. When I go out for dinner, I'm very bad at sticking to primal only foods. But I'm definitely working on going 90% + primal this year. I'm having a hard time with my sugar/carb addiction, and am trying to conquer that right now.
Do you consume dairy: Occasionally cheese, don't drink milk otherwise.
Do you drink coffee or tea: Tea often. I live in the neighboorhood with Seven Cups, an awesome tea house which imports the finest varieties of teas from china. hundreds of them. I will very occasionally have coffee w my partner at the little coffee stand run by the local sw barista champion, but it is only a few times a month.
Motivator for switching to Primal: I read Paleolithic Perscription in college, while living in a vegetarian co-op, and read Paul Shephards Coming Home to the Pleistocene, which completely changed my life and my view of humanity and society. LIving primal/paleo style feels inherently right to me, plus the added health benefits of avoiding diabetes, heart disease, Insulin resistance related diseases of modern civilization and the weight loss aspect are a definite benefit. But mostly i want to feel vibrant and alive and full of energy and I truly feel that way when I eat primal.
Favorite exercise: Hiking, or swimming in a river or lake.
Favorite Primal food: Steak, or blueberries.
Best part about being Primal: Being able to eat as much fat as I want and not blink an eye!
Worst part about being Primal: Being surrounded by non primal eaters, and being tempted constantly by the things I should not want to eat, but still do.
