Ok. I have to agree trying to meet a daily calorie requirement etc. is tough. I am going to give JUDDD a go. I am sure I will struggle in the beginning like anything however I think its doable. I have done IF in the past and this will be similar. So, no time to start like the present. Today is an UD. My question is this: Do I need to ensure my fats are high etc. to help carry over to tomorrow? Tips and suggestions welcome.
* Eat up to your UD calories. This helps sustain you through the DD.
* Try to eat balanced on your UD. I usually allow myself a small treat (baker's chocolate with unsweetened sunbutter).
* Preplan your DD. Seriously. 500 calories is completely doable, but not if you don't plan.
* Lots of liquids (more difficult for you since you teach).
* Salt as needed.
* Remember - the next day you eat again. You can do anything for a few hours.
yep, what she said. Look at the low carb friends UDDD food porn thread, I tell ya, they are very creative. And a cup of bouillon or two at lunch has very few calories.
YMMV, but my results indicated that I had to wait a week before I saw results. Give it at least a full week (preferably two).
For me, it seems like if I do my "breakfast" smoothie (modified) for my lunch, and just do my matcha tea with either the coconut milk or almond milk for my breakfast, it works well for me. I may switch out "food" for the liquid lunch once I get into this, but I am trying to keep day time calories low so that I can have a nice dinner. If I do fish for dinner, my boys don't care for it, so there is no question about why my dinner is different than theirs, and fish (or shrimp) has a great nutrition to calorie ratio.
p.s. you may have noticed that I have given up dairy on my dd's, fewer calories that way. But I use a whole cup of the milk with my tea, and drink it iced. And I still use stevia. Since I broke down and had Diet coke this past week while looking for easy caffeine and I still came back a pound lighter even following imperfectly, I am thinking artificial sweeteners are not likely my issue.
One of the ladies - an awesome writer - has been detailing her journey on JUDDD. Reading her weekly updates is what finally convinced me to give it a whirl. Here's a link to all of her posts. Thanks Ruth that looks like it will be helpful. I do not do well with straight success stories but dollowing along with simeone is very helpful to me.
I agree with Chris. Thank you ladies for your tips. I will look into them today.

FBS one meter said 94, the relion said 124 I have a feeling the relion is more accurate that the one I bought for use in testing ketones. I am going to track a bit and see. The relion does not require calibration as the other one does. So today is my first DD. I am off to a slow start as I am back to work, its 23 degrees, I did not have my coffee this morning (DD was not wanting to get up) I could go on, but you get the idea. I will say this though, my shoes are coming off and slippers are going on (yes I keep slippers at school) that will improve my day I think- my classroom is COLD. I am planning on making some coffee or tea with CM and have 2 hard boiled eggs for lunch. Not sure what dinner will look like but I have bone broth bubbling away at home. It probably will not be done until tomorrow though. I did bring my bouillon with me today though.
Being warm ALWAYS improves my day!!!!!
You can do this. I know you're starting a bit up -- probably from your vacation -- but it WILL come back down. Take a look at my stats to see that:)
I need to get some bone broth brewing myself:)
I bought some marrow bones, roasted them, put them in a crockpot with onions, bay, garlic S&P oh and dehydrated celery.
Ooo.. I also bought a beef heart.. now to figure out how to cook that puppy.
