I don't think mega doses of D, taken erratically is a good idea. I think your lip would agree with me. How about taking 1,000 or 2,000IUs daily and see how that goes for you?

I think I'd like to take the Vitamin D3 in gelcaps. Now Foods has some in olive oil. It is listed as Vitamin D3 (as Cholecalciferol) (from Lanolin). Is the Lanolin part ok?
