I use pink Himalayan salt because of the taste - it is by far the YUMMIEST salt I have ever had :) That's the only reason, as for all the claims about it, I don't know. I got a box for $6 and 3 1/2 months later I'm still using it so it's not really that much more expensive - some sea salts I've seen cost a lot more.
