try whipping the heavy cream and then making your super nog. . . sounds fantastic. i could not live without it. usually if i whip up some organic heavy whipping cream and add it to a 1/2 cup of blueberries for a yummy and filling snack. since i have been primal (about a month) i no longer get hungry between meals. . . but when i find myself needing some extra fat i tend to turn to heavy cream. . . it's my new best friend, well that and bacon!!!

Urban legend. Cooking denatures proteins, making them more bioavailable. If you're cooking vegetables, it gelatinizes starches, making them more bioavailable. In "Catching Fire", Richard Wrangham makes a convincing argument that our digestive tracts evolved along with cooking and that eating mostly cooked food is how we evolved to eat. Give it a read, it's well written whether or not you end up agreeing with it.
The only argument I ever hear about eating raw food is that cooking destroys the enzymes, and that's bad. The argument is completely without merit, however. Plants make enzymes for their own use, not ours. The enzymes used to digest plants are the last enzymes that a plant would produce. Same for animals. Making digestive enzymes in your body tissues would be a recipe for disaster.
Look into the raw egg white issue if you eat them a lot. I like a lot of Chris Masterjohn's stuff. This is what he has to say:

OMG that sounds delish. How much vanilla and nutmeg? Do you use the blender to mix it all together and do you use all the egg whites?
Lately I've been using a couple drops of liquid stevia vanilla cream, so maybe a tsp of vanilla. I have a hand held Do It All Kitchen Wonder that has a bunch of different attachments. I throw the HWC in a really tall cup, and whip it up. Whip egg whites until frothy in separate bowl, then fold it together with HWC, egg, and spices. It takes 5 mins tops.

The saturated fat, cholesterol and protein content is truly awe inspiring. And one can chug 1000 calories in 15 seconds. ^^
I think you can get way better nutritional value from cheap/healthier sources of food for your post-workout snack. I mean, it's PWO - your muscles are more receptive to nutrients than anytime else. Why don't you take advantage of it by eating extremely nutrient dense foods that would have otherwise been less efficiently nutrient-extracted?
The Nog sounds AMAZING!!! I'm going to try it for breakfast tomorrow! I get the UK equivalent of heavy cream which is 50% fat and a pint lasts me about 3-4 days - if I told that to any of my CV friends they would have a heart attack on the spot just thinking about all this fat and cholesterol :) - they never saw me eating butter straight either...

My goal is to keep tweaking it to make it even thicker, but keeping the ingredients the same. I think whipping the egg whites and the HWC separately helped yesterday. Pre-diet anything (CW/PB), I was an egg nog hound, but the stuff at the store is so bad for you, IMO. Homemade nog can be so much better, cheaper, and healthier!

Best to avoid fats after a workout, if your goal is to 'lean out'. General rules for working out, eating and getting lean are:
On workout days, increase your carbs slightly (depends what type of workouts you are doing);
On non work out days, increase your fat, and lower your carbs;
keep protein steady on all days.
Again, it depends what type of workouts you are doing an what your goals are. I wouldn't pound back the fat post-workouts.

Because egg yolks aren't extremely nutritionally dense? What would you suggest that would be just as cheap?
