I'm sure you will agree the healthcare industry in the US is at least fascism. And I would argue that fascism is nothing more than a form of socialism which appeals to the right wing.
Replace socialism with statism, it's all the same thing. It's all about violence. That is all that government is -- violence.
Violence never solves anything.
You do not reach a utopia through the use of force.

That's the best argument you can come up with? I must be an obtuse non-American because I believe in peace, freedom, and liberty?
I'm anti-violence. Therefore I'm dense.
I believe in freedom and liberty. Therefore I'm not American.

GotD: The old "layoff in 21 days or maybe 6 months..." notice expired and was replaced with a NEW "layoff sometime in the next 6 months..." notice. So basically I've been notified that I'll be laid off sometime between November 2011 and November 2012.
Seriously, I know they're hoping we get pissed off and just quit so they don't have to pay severance.
I'm only staying for the medical insurance.

You *don't* think that socialism is utopian?

Maybe anarcho-socialism is utopian, but that would last about five minutes at best. :p

Having to give up my health insurance because it went from being 20% of my income to being 30% of my income in the past 6 month. I've tried to do the right thing and buy my own insurance. It had a high deductible, so I never went to the doctor for basic stuff anyway because the premium made me broke. At least now I'm primal and way healthier than before.
I can't tell if you are serious or if you are joking.
Actually it's due to the fact that number of doctors is artificially limited, they used to be a higher percentage of the population and charge less for services.
Keep in mind that doctors that accept medicare/caid are held to a bunch of insane rules and regulations that increase their costs and force them to charge XYZ.

Yes. Looks like someone actually studied early 20th century Europe before throwing around terms.
Either way, both concepts are extremely authoritarian -- that is, they favor a high degree of government control and involvement in the lives of its citizens.

GRIPE:
My left hand is not as functional as my right. I'm a righty and trying to do normal everyday things with my left hand is like watching the special olympics. If i try to brush my teeth, use a knife to cut a steak, scoop something with a spoon, or wipe my ass. IT JUST ISN'T HAPPENING. I can't even put a shirt on left arm first without shit hitting the fan. Same goes with putting my pants on left leg first. ARG.
