That doesn't sound bad. Sadly UU here means "I read auras, talk to animals, and practice <insert some alternative medicine> here" which makes me very leery to talk to them as it is impolite to laugh at people I have been told.

Oh. Hubby wouldn't like that. Here it means consciously staying in a beautiful church even though it is now in the middle of a lost-cause now-bust steel town (not Pittsburgh) and trying to do some good in the middle of mansions-cum-halfway houses-cum-boarded-up-wrecks with a farmer's market at the church and groups that start urban gardens and go to local elementaries and make gardens there and rich white geezers who give their money to keep the local science museum open. Some local known homeless guys sometimes pop into coffee hour and nobody blinks. Except for me - one of them has it out for Third. He insists she is "disrespecting" her when she doesn't answer him, but she is a kid with both a language and a speech disability and cannot. So I formed an informal guard at church, and they help when he is about.
