My whole family owns Fords, my granddad retired from Ford. My wife drives a Ford. Me? I've always had GMC trucks and loved them, until this one. Maybe it's a lemon, but I'm not chancing it. I'm going to drive it until it falls apart and then mail it to Detroit "One piece at a time".

I remember hearing my father say the first cuss words for my virgin ears as he was working on it, so I'd believe you. But the Fox stood up to a family of 4 with 2 toddlers and went through a front end wreck that left it immobile and a hurt engine block. We sold it to our neighbors for scrap, they completely repaired it, and last I heard, they were still driving the once red 1987 VW Fox my father once owned.

Huh, well, that is pretty damned cool

Like I said, if I ever find a car like that, I'm buying the damn thing.

My first car was a 1972 Chrysler Galant. I loved it because it was the same age as me. My Dad had it second hand, then I bought it, then my brother bought it, then a friend of his bought it. That car was still running like a dream and went like shit off a shovel when I left town in 2000. Good cars are priceless!
I drive a Nissan Pathfinder 4WD (I think you guys call them SUVs?) now and I love it! Stands up to me and the kids and the dog and a lot of off-road shenanigans. She's my baby. :)

My first car was a Toyota Tercel. It was a great little car. I saw one at the convenience store this morning . I looked at it and smiled. Unfortunately the guy driving it thought I was admiring him. He smiled and waved at me. lol

LOL You probably made his day.
My first was Plymouth Reliant which apparently should have had an "Un" before it. Currently I have a 12 year old Corolla with tons of miles and little paint, but she runs so yay for that. :D
And Em...off-road shenanigans huh? *thoughtful pause*

My first was a 1991 GMC Sonoma extended cab. I think it had 130k miles on it when I got it, 182ishK when I sold it. The only problems it ever had was minor wear and tear stuff, water pumps, alternators, starters. I sold it and bought my brother's '97 GMC Sonoma, I'll have to post a picture of it, it was my baby. I sold it to my cousin on the cheap...then the punk traded it in to a dealership like 3 or 4 months later. I would have gladly bought it back, probably for more than the dealership gave him. Punk. Then I got this lemon of a '06 GMC Canyon, it's supposed to have 40 more horsepower than my '97...I must have got some lemon horses as well. Freakin' Punk sold my truck.

Ooh, Oh- my first was an Oldsmobile Calais. 87ish? Still all metal. Powder blue except for the rather flesh-colored sections where my dad and baby brother started turning her into a Porche for me. (Read, fiberglass patches to pass inspection.) I had her for a year. I think we only changed the oil 3 times because it was absolutely impossible to get to the filter. Swore up and down that I'd never by another GM product. Changing oil should not involve that many swear words and busted knuckles.
However, I love my Saturn :)
