Face meet desk....
So I place an order with a national law enforcement equipment company which shall remain nameless but rhymes with Galls.
My apt number auto populates with my address but for some reason doesn't show up when I get my confirmation email.
So being the paranoid soul I am I call to ask if they have my apt number. I am told it is not showing up in the system yet but this often happens and I should be good, but I can call back the following day if I want to check.
Meanwhile the next morning I have an email saying my order was not processed because they did not have my middle initial for the credit card (something else which autopopulated)
So cool...my order did not process so I figure I can kill two birds with one stone. I call them up. Yes, they can now process my order but they can't change the address without cancelling the order and then rerunning it which would charge me twice, one which will be returned to my account within 10 days. So to change my address means I get to loan them $100 for 10 days. No thanks.
Now, they are unable to tell me why my order which has not even run once yet would have to be run twice if I want them to add an apt number. Apparently I am supposed to take this on faith. They will add a shipping note of my apt but can't promise UPS will read it, but I can call back the next day to get the tracking number and call UPS myself to tell them.
So I call back and they still cannot update my address but they can call UPS to tell them to update it and can I wait while they do that? Sure.
Oh, apparently they can't change it because UPS has it but UPS can't change it until Monday (a federal holiday btw) because apparently that is the day UPS has it. So wait, they have it now but don't have it until Monday? How does that work? Apparently it just does.
So being the fool I am I ask why they could not have changed it before giving it to UPS. I was told, "Well, UPS has it." Right, but did they don't have the pants I ordered so someone at yoru company put them in a box right? "Yes." And that box had a label on it right? "Yes." And you could have corrected that label right? "No because UPS has it." The box or the label? "Yes." So UPS had the box and the pants and the label when you all put them all together? "No." So who did? "We did" So you can change the label... "No because we don't have the label. The computer does." Oh, the computer does. Your computer? "Yes." And you can't update it in your computer? "No, because UPS has it." Your computer? "No, the label." Okay, I have to go burn your catalog in effigy. Have a nice day.
That's an awesome display of "It's not our fault, it's theirs" mentality. Solves a lot of problems, too, eh?

Yes, my favorite part was when she told me that the labels are put on by computer/machine and if they did it by hand or corrected it by hand then my order would not ship within 12 hours. Well, I ordered about 72-96 hours ago and she just got done telling me that the shipping company wont have it until Monday (though apparently they also have it today...yeah, I still don't know how that works). So apparently it doesn't ship within 12 hours anyway. And I just placed a $12,000 order with this company last week through work. I do not think they will be getting repeat business from me or from work, since I am in charge or orders.

Nah, I am that ahole customer who just says nothing and never shops at your store ever again. Oh, and tells all his friends, enemies, and the internet about it ;)
Galls?!?!? You should have known better. Worst company out there. It once took them over [B]6 MONTHS[/B] to ship a uniform order. They could never answer just why it was taking so long. copsplus.com. They even have a lowest price guarantee. I ordered something and found it cheaper the next day. I told them and they beat the price on the spot.
