I find it mildly entertaining. and it's kind of relieving that the rest of the country hardly knows we exist. the tourists are bad enough as it stands, i kind of like having my little state with its low population density.

We get the same with Ohio on tv. Some of the portrayals are really facepalm worthy.
According to TV, Texas (especially West Texas) is full of oil barons, rednecks, high school football, and nothing else. Apparently, Odessa is a suburb of Dallas and you can get from Lubbock to Houston in 2 hours flat. We all dress in cowboy gear, drive pick ups (unless we're riding a horse), and speak like Georgians.

Rachel, your exercise videos are adorable. My 8 year old likes to do yoga with me. My dog also licks my face while I am doing floor poses. He thinks that something is wrong.

on the topic of dogs...today I ADOPTED A DOG!!! i have been waiting 9 years for the time to be right...9 YEARS! daughter and i met him today. because of his breed, the shelter won't let us take him home until he has been neutered so he's not completely ours until sometime next week. but we can go to the shelter any time to take him for walks, give him a bath, whatever. he's paid for and i have all his tags. i'm wondering if he's too old/trained to change his name. anyway...SQUEEE!!

As for changing the name, it's pretty easy no matter the age. Dogs don't think of their name as [I]their name[/I]. Not the way we do. To them it's like any other command you teach them. They learn that when you say [enter dog name here] that you want their attention or for them to come to you.
Yeah, you should be fine. As a kid, we got a 10 year old dog with a name we didn't want to yell out in our predominantly black and mexican neighborhood, so we changed it to May. Dog didn't care.
Your videos remind me of doing step videos. I have pictures of my twins (2-3 years old at the time) using phone books as steps as I did my workout. That was about 20 years ago.
