:) thank you.
:) thank you.
5 yo daughter was drawing on a piece of paper with a Sharpe, thus breaking the cardinal rule of "no using Sharpes." son said "MURDER HER!!" and i said "BURN HER AT THE STAKE!!" to which she replied smugly:
Wow, rough crowd...
I have the "forbidden sharpe marker" rule too! Spent too much time cleaning a hard wood floor after my oldest colored it "pretty" when she was little. Too funny through ....mmmm steak!
oh yes, we've had some mishaps with sharpes. oh and i can't tell you how many times i've taken pocket knives away. my daughter has this lovely habit of leaving them open, on the floor, in the midst of a mess of toys. thankfully, they have their own toy room so they're only endangering themselves (as opposed to endangering the bean). that was months ago and i still haven't given them back yet.

i think there's a cultural reference there that i'm not privvy to.
the kids and i went out for brunch today. the older two ordered crappy food (french toast, chicken strips and fries) while i ordered "migas": scrambled eggs, potatoes, green chili, smoky sausage, with a side of sour cream. however, the weather's got me down (near freezing, windy and raining), so i'm going to perk myself up with junk food. cookies, or chocolate cake? i also promised the daughter that i'd take her out for dessert tomorrow, should be a fun little date. hubby's coming on Friday; i'm thinking of going low carb after monday's dessert.
oh, and i bought a new/used bike trailer. the old one is mildewy (this is the condition it was given to me in), and the straps for the kid look uncomfortable, so i really didn't like using it. the new/used one also seats one kid or two. so as long as i get my bike into shape, i plan to pick the kids up from the babysitter with my bike. :) i'm itching to use it, but the weather's so shitty.
Oh, fun way to sneak in some exercise.
:) the sun finally came out, but it's still cold and windy. dinner should be something from the oven.
I'm in the market for some new music to play; something intermediate and fun to play alone, preferably in the format of a book
(more cost effective). i should take out my old suzuki books and look through them.
uhoh, i'm a money-spending machine today. :( friend and i went on a little hike, but then went out to lunch (brats and sauerkraut with a side of potato salad), then popped into a local deli and had *gasp* freshly-made caramel roll (hers) and pain au chocolat (mine). we shared. OMG! delicioso!
after coming home, i tinkered with my bike a little but couldn't get the front wheel off. i ended up taking it to a bike shop to replace both tires and the cables. $$ Then we went food shopping. i had intended to pick up "a few veggies and GF tortillas." well the coop was having a sale on organic bell peppers ($2.25/lb), so i bought a boat-load, some veggies, sour cream...and on and on. all good stuff that we'll eat, no junk. not even good chocolate. but still.
THEN we went to the supermarket and they were having a sale on organic bell peppers too. so i bought 4 more. plus brats (they only had one package left), more veggies, chicken drumettes, and some seafood. i could tell i was pissing off the seafood lady. first i asked to smell her cod. i felt weird doing it, but i've had bad fish so many times, it's just not cool. smelled good, so we bought some. then one crab leg cluster, and the kids were begging for cooked shrimp so we bought some of that too. as she bagged it up, i asked (just to make sure) "oh, did you change your gloves between the cod and the shrimp?" she looked pissed, but i hadn't seen her change her gloves. she claims she did. oh well, we'll see if we get sick. all told, i didn't spend that much, and it was all good stuff, but i bought a lot of things i normally don't.
at the self-checkout, toddler man was being a pain(wanting to sit on the scale/grocery bag area) so i put him on my shoulders. he was pissed because i wasn't giving him a radish, so he started to slowly pull my hair as i was trying to checkout. i'm sure it must've been really comical to other shoppers. OTOH, things that my kids begged for: kiwi, radishes, deli meat, artichokes(they were out), and shrimp. :D
and i've got a GOTD that is too TMI for the regular thread: hubby's coming home for the first time in 4 months and i'm due for TTOM! argh!!
Ooo cracks of thunder and sudden rain!
