Barcelona is beautiful! Paris is nice...I mean, I must be the only person on the face of this earth not being crazy about Paris. I like it, but it's too big for me ;), it's only a 4 hour drive from here and I've been there a few times, but if I never get there another time in my life I wouldn't mind a bit. But Barcelona, ah Barcelona....I fell in love with Gaudì!

Oh how wonderful! I've done Italy a couple of times with student groups. It's a crazy schedule, but so much fun! And I so much enjoy that age group, just at the hinge between childhood and adulthood.
Wishing you all the best success in getting into better shape for the trip. The bracelet sounds like a great idea. Too bad it doesn't have an Eiffel Tower charm on it. ;)
So tell me about macadamia butter. What do you find it's good for that almond butter isn't?
I think that's an excellent plan! Specifically, that you're not stressing yourself by 'neeeeeeding to lose x billion kilos by the end of the month', that you have a goal to feel good and to keep up, and that you have a bracelet to remind yourself of the goal. Cool.
Thanks - Yeah, the "neeeding to lose x by y" NEVER works for me. Hopefully this will.

You might be crazy - I don't know if I've ever heard of anyone who didn't love Paris.
I can't imagine being SO close to so many wonderful places...
I'm looking forward to both places! I've got to do some research :)

It's my favourite age group too. I'll get an Eiffel Tower when I'm there!
I like Macadamia butter partially because I've NEVER had any luck with almond butter. I've bought it a few times and each times it's been HARD. Unscoopable hard. I've tried different brands and stores. So I gave up on it.
I also LOVE the taste :)

Tuesday
A slice of quiche and a Chai
Set construction and design from 9-12:45. I'm really enjoying the set design and construction. It's "filling the well" (Julia Cameron)
I bought a 200g wheel of Brie and ate 1/2 of it for "lunch" in the car
1-2:30 Home Instruction Student
High school, hardware store, hairdressers (to book an apt) and home
I took Daughter into London, we ate at Wendy's (I had the Apple Pecan Chicken salad - without the pecans) and then we went to watch Breaking Dawn part 2. I had NO popcorn OR candies!!!!! I brought a small bag of almonds and Brazil nuts and a tiny container of Cacao Nibs, but I ate maybe 4 nuts and 5-6 Nibs. For me, this is BIG!
However, on the way home my Beetle pulled into $tarbucks...
I think next time I will ask for a Chai "tea" the Lattes are starting to be TOO sweet (That's a good thing - right?)
-
Just ask for a straight latte with no syrups. Easy peasy. That's what I do. And bring stevia in my purse. Or if it's a cheating day, at least I can put in much less sugar than they would have.
Congrats for the self-control.
Architect Son did not love Paris when he worked there for a few months (same time as the riots, which did not affect him at all). He liked it, but he said it was like living in a museum. He found London to be a much more dynamic city, although he was only there for brief visits.

Great news on the trip! That is so exciting! We will want to hear all about it when you get back. You'll be too busy when you're there to give us the newsreel.
I love Paris and Barcelona and just about everywhere. I've had a great longing for a weekend in Paris for a while now. I should just do it -

I've asked for 1/2 sweet and I've asked for no water (a friend suggested it. WOW! what a flavour bomb!) I shall try asking for no syrup.
Congrats for the self-control.
Thank you. Baby steps.

Hmm. I'll let you all know my impressions :)

Yes, do it!
I will give a report. Hopefully better than my East Cost trip report - where I only covered Quebec City and never posted anything about NB, NS or PEI!

Wednesday
It was a foggy day again today. The local buses were first delayed and then cancelled. I stayed in bed till 10.
The past few days (idk how many exactly) I've been eating a slice of quiche first thing in the morning. Today, I didn't. I didn't even have a morning Chai. At lunch time, when my Farmer was eating, i decided to have my slice of quiche. I wasn't really hungry, but I figured it was time to eat.
It seems that the sooner I eat, the sooner I "wake the Dragon" (turn on the hunger) Weird. Not "normal". But then again, as a friend told me the other day I'm not "normal" :) Idk. Some days I can go till 1 or 2 without eating, other days I'm STARVING at 10 am (I'm NEVER starving before that) I wonder if it depends on when I wake up??? I should keep track of that - the # of hours from waking up to hunger... ('cause some days I'm up a 5:45 and some days it's 10am)
I unpacked a couple of boxes, did laundry, put some clothes away, surfed the net, made bone broth and a coconut oil, macadamia butter, creamed coconut, shredded coconut "snack". Kinda wasted the day. I had tons of plans yesterday for what I was going to accomplish today. Somehow, it didn't happen.
The bone broth I'm making is kinda neat. You reduce it down and then you cool it in a shallow pan and cut it into "jello" squares. Then you can add the cubes to you cooking or a cup of hot water. I wonder what they taste like cold?? Here's the link Also, did you know that you could make more than one batch of stock from the same bones? I did not know this.
Supper was fried chicken thighs and stir fried veggies: carrots, broccoli, onion, water chestnuts, mushrooms, fresh bean sprouts, garlic, (forgot the ginger), rice wine vinegar, a couple spoonfuls of jarred Pad Thai sauce. A mango for dessert.
Daughter is working. It is foggy again tonight.
I should mark some of my Home Instruction Student's work tonight.
Tomorrow I'm going to my OLD dentist to fix my tooth. My old dentist moved to London, the new guy moved into the local office. I won't go back to the new guy. (funny, the old dentist is young, the new dentist is old)
I hate going to the dentist.

When we lived in Italy, my parents loved Spain and Holland. They didn't care for Paris - if I remember correctly it was the attitudes toward Americans that they didn't like. My parents were not "ugly" Americans - they really tried to fit in. The Italians loved them! :)
